💎 **LOCAL GEM: Hollywood in the Ark-La-Tex 🎬**
Did you know our little corner of the Ark-La-Tex has a connection to Stephen King?
The 2007 movie ***The Mist***, based on Stephen King's novella and directed by Frank Darabont, was filmed in several locations around the area — including **Atlanta, Texas and Vivian, Louisiana!**
🎥 **Atlanta, Texas** is officially listed as one of the movie's filming locations. While there isn't much documentation identifying the exact buildings or scenes filmed here, it's pretty neat knowing that our small East Texas town made it onto the big screen.
And just a short drive across the Louisiana state line, there's an even bigger connection...
🛒 **Vivian, Louisiana** was home to **Tom's Market**, whose exterior was used as the supermarket in the movie. If you've seen *The Mist*, you know that supermarket is a pretty important part of the story! The former market was located on N. Pine Street. The building is no longer standing, but it's still a fun little piece of local movie history.
Who would've thought this quiet corner of Texas and Louisiana had a little Hollywood history hiding in it? 🎬
Have you seen ***The Mist***? And did you know it was filmed this close to home?
