You come to Austin for the city. The food, the music, the shopping, and the nightlife are all here, but you stay for the deer that show up right in the yard.

Did I make this for you or me?! 😅

Finding joy in the small mundane things is really what I've been trying to focus on lately. I get so caught up in the day to day of mothering while trying to also have a "side hustle" with short term rentals that I've felt burnt out.

With a new school year approaching, I'm hoping to put more energy towards the things I love and less to things "just because".

Friday
✈️ Land, drop bags at the bungalow, and head straight to Veracruz All Natural™️ (location on Congress at the Line hot) for the tacos (get La Reina & an agua fresca....thank me later)
🛍️ Shop around at boutiques on Second Street or walk the Lady Bird Lake trail
🌅 Golden hour drinks at P6 to kick things off right

Saturday
☕ Slow morning with coffee on the Bungalow patio
👙 Spend the afternoon hanging out & swimming at Barton Springs Barton
🌮 Fuel back up with Desnudo Coffee & go shopping on SoCo making sure to have dinner at Aba
🌃 Get glammed up and hit Rainey Street for bar hopping, string lights, and food truck snacks under the stars
*If going out is not your scene 🙋🏽‍♀️, grab some ice cream on SoCo after dinner & get in your jammies by 9pm 🙌🏼

Well this was never our plan....

Almost 7 years ago, we went on a TV renovation show thinking we were just giving our garage a glow-up.

We had no kids, no business plan, full time
jobs, and definitely no idea we'd still be letting STRANGERS sleep in our garage almost seven years later.

Fast forward: three kids, countless loads of laundry, and somehow this little garage apartment is still chugging along.

Not exactly how I pictured adulthood... but here we are.

I'm still trying to tell my kids they can't scream "AIRBNB" when they seem someone entering the The Boho Bungalow | Vacation Rental 😬

Gotcha! I saw this trend, and honestly, being a short term rental host was a little too easy. 😂

I give complete strangers the code to my property.

I let them sleep in my bed, use my kitchen, and hang out on my patio while I’m nowhere nearby.

Sometimes they book months in advance based on a few photos I posted on the internet.

Then after they leave, I clean up after them, change the sheets, restock the snacks, and hope they decide I’m worthy of 5 stars.

The craziest part? They pay me for it.

What started as a side hustle has turned into meeting people from all over the world, helping create girls’ weekends, family vacations, anniversaries, and celebrations that people remember for years.

But when you really break it down…

“I give strangers the code to my house and let them sleep in my bed” sounds a lot more suspicious though 😂
