What actually is a budget?!

Because sometimes you need to throw the budget out the window, text the girls, pick a weekend & just GO!

Book the cute house. Order the overpriced coffee. Get all the tacos. Go shopping on South Congress. Spend the afternoon at Barton Springs or take a daytrip out to Krause Springs. Make reservations somewhere you’ve been wanting to try. Get dressed up for dinner. Stay up way too late talking about life & laughing about things that probably aren’t that funny.

You can worry about the budget on Monday.

Sometimes the girls weekend is the budget.

And honestly, splitting a cute place like the The Boho Bungalow | Vacation Rental with your best friends is a lot more fun than spending the same money on a boring hotel room anyway.

You come to Austin for the city. The food, the music, the shopping, and the nightlife are all here, but you stay for the deer that show up right in the yard.

The The Boho Bungalow | Vacation Rental sits in a quiet neighborhood tucked near a canyon and a greenbelt, and that’s exactly why the wildlife shows up the way it does. Almost every guest brings it up unprompted — coffee in hand, watching deer wander through, not something they expected from a stay this close to the city.

Did I make this for you or me?! 😅

Finding joy in the small mundane things is really what I've been trying to focus on lately. I get so caught up in the day to day of mothering while trying to also have a "side hustle" with short term rentals that I've felt burnt out.

With a new school year approaching, I'm hoping to put more energy towards the things I love and less to things "just because".

Friday
✈️ Land, drop bags at the bungalow, and head straight to Veracruz All Natural™️ (location on Congress at the Line hot) for the tacos (get La Reina & an agua fresca....thank me later)
🛍️ Shop around at boutiques on Second Street or walk the Lady Bird Lake trail
🌅 Golden hour drinks at P6 to kick things off right

Saturday
☕ Slow morning with coffee on the Bungalow patio
👙 Spend the afternoon hanging out & swimming at Barton Springs Barton
🌮 Fuel back up with Desnudo Coffee & go shopping on SoCo making sure to have dinner at Aba
🌃 Get glammed up and hit Rainey Street for bar hopping, string lights, and food truck snacks under the stars
*If going out is not your scene 🙋🏽‍♀️, grab some ice cream on SoCo after dinner & get in your jammies by 9pm 🙌🏼

Well this was never our plan....

Almost 7 years ago, we went on a TV renovation show thinking we were just giving our garage a glow-up.

We had no kids, no business plan, full time
jobs, and definitely no idea we'd still be letting STRANGERS sleep in our garage almost seven years later.

Fast forward: three kids, countless loads of laundry, and somehow this little garage apartment is still chugging along.

Not exactly how I pictured adulthood... but here we are.

I'm still trying to tell my kids they can't scream "AIRBNB" when they seem someone entering the The Boho Bungalow | Vacation Rental 😬
