Little Sweden + Nordics

Little Sweden + Nordics Little Sweden is a page dedicated to the dream of hosting all of the Swedish people and business coming to SXSW in Austin in one spot. Now open to Nordics!

How this page works:

First off, its only visible outside of the US so its a little secret offering of houses mainly between my friends here in Austin and my friends in Europe. On this page, each house thats still available for rent is its own photo album. If you want to browse the houses, just click photos and then photo albums. When a house gets booked, I change the title to "no longer available

" and then drag it to the bottom so the houses available are always at the top. Services: My main thing is housing. I can rent you one house or 7 houses side by side. Beyond that, I tell my customers "I can do anything you want." Heres what I've done to help in the past:
- airport pickup, bicycle rentals, shopping, furnishing the convention, building custom furniture, hauling stuff with my truck, helping to rent a big space near the convention center, staffing events, being a private driver, storing peoples stuff until the come back next year, helping people sell stuff they bought here but don't plan to take home. I'm always up for a challenge! Let me know what you need in Austin and I'll try to make it happen. History:

In 2012 Peter Blom of Rebel & Bird in Stockholm and his colleagues booked a guided tour of Hamilton Pool outside of Austin with me for a day during SXSW. Because of a lack of Taxi's in town, I also became their private driver for the week. In 2013 Peter arranged for me to throw his companies official SXSW party on a real island in the middle of downtown. We did it and 60 Swedes attended! My (now) wife had to drive everyone back to downtown because there were no Taxis available. I was the private driver for alot of Swedes that year and I took a small group surfing and scuba diving a local river. In 2014, I hosted Peter and 8 other Swedes at my house and was the private driver for over 50 Swedish people including your Ambassador, Björn Lyrvall. We went wake boarding on the Lake and I offered full service concierge service to everyone at the house. Everyone was given a bike with locks and airport shuttle service. We talked alot about the idea of "Little Sweden" for 2015

September 2014: Peter invited me to Sweden. I saw some random previous clients who used me as a driver for SXSW and they said "what are you doing here? You're the guy that never sleeps!" I got to see alot of cool stuff around Stockholm and the dream of Little Sweden 2015 got the spark it needed. It's going to happen!

2015 - I hosted a lot of Swedes using mine and my friends houses. I helped them setup at the convention center and unload the convention center too. We threw a few parties and made a lot of friends. I rented about 20 houses this year. I rented a house to Airbnb HQ this year and told them I could do anything they wanted. I became their "mr. fix it" and found myself on all sorts of adventures keeping guests happy. I flew into Stockholm later in the year and rented a motorcycle and drove it all over Sweden with a stop in Malmo for The Conference.

2016 - I hosted a lot of Swedes but also starting hosting more Germans too. For the Swedes I helped them rent out a huge building on the lake for their own event space and used my friend network to do all the heavy lifting getting the place furnished and setup. I would say I hosted more than 100 people total and did a lot of the logistics for all of these people inside the convention center and out. I continued to work for Airbnb HQ as their on the ground problem solver.

2017 - For 2017, I branched out and started renting to big groups from France, Sweden, and Germany. I rented the entire 7 house Pennsylvania Cluster to the Germans we and built an outdoor kitchen with brick oven fire pit for them. I helped furnish the German Haus downtown, and I supplied bikes and extra beds to 30 or more people at houses that were not mine. Overall I rented out about 25 houses. New Customers this year were IKEA HQ, Def Jam Records, and after 2 years of being their problem solver, Airbnb HQ called me to book a house for their team! That was pretty cool.

2018 - This looks to be a big year with a lot of returning customers. I can't wait!

That was pretty cool. 2018 - For 2018, I did a lot! Rented houses to Swedes, of course, but also rented to a lot of Germans! Flo from Munich brought his crew back and rented all of the houses on Pennsylvania ave again. They threw good parties and I staffed the house with 2 guys full time who cooked and cleaned daily, plus cooked a big meal for the party. For the Germans from Berlin, we provided housing and just for fun we picked them up at the airport with a surprise limo motorcade complete with limosine service and 4 motorcycle escorts. That was a lot of fun! We also helped to furnish the German Haus event center and then threw a 5 day event for the city of berlin. This took months of prep here on the ground in Austin. We helped rent the space, then we got all sorts of permits from the city, rented temporary fencing, shopped and assembled all the furniture, rented dumpsters, arranged full catering for 250 people per day for 3 meals a day. Trucked in lots of beer! Bought and setup TV’s and computers, generators, etc and staffed the entire event 24 hours a day. I could go on and on about that event. I also rented 7 houses out to an art collective from New Mexico called “meow wolf.” and did a lot of extras for their group. 2018 was surly one for the record books!

2019 - 2019 is looking promising. How can I help your group?
