Hill City celebrated its 150th in style on Saturday with a party at the Ben Hur Shrine for members and friends. A great time was had as we reminisced, watched interviews with past masters and celebrated the lodge.

Hill City Lodge was graced by the attendance of the R.W. Grand Master of Texas last night as we celebrated our 150th anniversary in style. A great meal, catered by the Garde Manger of the Austin Scottish Rite was followed by an enjoyable ceremony led by the Grand Master.

The officers for the forthcoming masonic year were installed in due form this week. 48 people attended for a delicious catered meal followed by the installation ceremony. The Colorado Commandary No 4 were in attendance to provide an Arch of Steel and presentation of the flags.

There's a busy year ahead with a comprehensive lodge program ahead, starting with a visit by the Grand Master next week to mark the lodge's 150th anniversary.

Congratulations to Bro. Charles E. Maddox, PM 2016-17, on his election as Potentate of Ben Hur Shriners! He is the first member of Hill City to be elected Potentate since Brad Cole (Potentate 2017) and the first Past Master of Hill City to be elected Potentate since Burch Biggerstaff (Potentate 1976, Hill City PM 1958-59).
