Sweetlife Tipi

I can't believe it has been a year since the last post! The tipi has been idle since the summer of 2019, except for use as a two week quarantine site for two volunteer helpers who came last Fall to help us.
We have decided to retire and move closer to our kids. The tipi is still up and ready to welcome guests. We don't know if or when new owners will decide to rent it out to eager guests.

We are enjoying one last beautiful Springtime here; the tipi still looks mighty inviting, and the property looks even more spectacular than it did just two weeks ago, when the pictures were taken for the MLS listing.

As I write this post, Spring is putting on her finest showy blossoms and green-tipped shoots, and the tipi has a watchful vantage point.
We do not yet know when it will feel safe to offer the tipi as a retreat from regular life. For now, it is idle, waiting to welcome guests; unfortunately it may stay empty all summer. As long as Covid-19 sticks around, the safety requirements around disinfection between guests remains a daunting hurdle. We are not willing to put either our guests or ourselves at risk, and it becomes one of the many changes wrought by a pandemic.
Know that we are keeping a vigilant watch on unfolding information, as we all await hard evidence that this nightmare is over.
For now, we must muster all the calm serenity possible. Be well, stay safe. Find the light. Let your mind transport you to a place that lets you feel the joy of being alive.

August has been a busy month in the Sweetlife Tipi, with only two nights out of 31 not booked. Such a nice way to share the sweet life with truly amazing guests. Thank you all! Summer wanes, but Indian summer still promises.

Our guest came for an 11 day retreat from work, but work did not appear to get that memo....
She's impressive. Her car has not moved since Sunday's arrival (we're on the 5th day), and she brought everything she needs to survive in comfort. At least she has spent some quality time in the hammock, and has made s'mores (we provide the ingredients) in the fire pit down by the pond. She came for the quiet, and is reportedly taking some time to adjust to the sound of silence, punctuated by the rooster, owl calls, coyote and bird songs. She mentioned how unusual it was to hear the scratching sound her pen makes when she writes in her journal and having to play "white noise" on her phone in order to fall asleep the first night.
