It is with heavy hearts that Whigham Lodge #356 and Cairo Lodge #299 announce the passing of our beloved Brother, Gary Jones.
Brother Gary was the embodiment of what it means to be a Mason. He lived the principles of Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth each and every day—not just within the walls of the lodge, but throughout the entire community he served so faithfully.
He was a mentor to many, a friend to all, and a pillar of strength within our fraternity. His presence brought light, wisdom, and encouragement to every brother he encountered.
Brother Gary’s servant’s heart was evident in everything he did. His passion for cooking became a ministry of its own—bringing people together, raising funds for those in need, and creating moments of fellowship that strengthened our community. Many will remember the meals he prepared, not just for how good they tasted, but for how they made people feel—welcomed, cared for, and at home.
His impact extended far beyond the lodge. As a recipient of the Community Service Professional of the Year Award and Mason of the Year for the 2nd Masonic District of Georgia, Brother Gary’s dedication to serving others was recognized by many—but more importantly, it was felt by all who knew him.
The loss of Brother Gary leaves a void that cannot be filled. However, as Masons, we take comfort in knowing that a life so well lived leaves behind a legacy that endures. His example will continue to guide us, his kindness will continue to inspire us, and his memory will remain a part of our lodges forever.
We ask that you keep his family, friends, and all who knew him in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
“Well done, thou good and faithful servant.”
Rest in peace, dear Brother. Your work here is done—but your impact will never fade.
