Know before you go! Stay safe on the sand ❌

🚩 PSA: A High Risk of Rip Currents is in place from the East Beach of Bald Head Island to Corolla. The Brunswick County south-facing beaches are under a moderate risk of Rip Currents. Thunderstorms, especially along the Outer Banks could bring lightning as well this afternoon.

Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. Life-threatening rip currents. If caught in a rip current, remain calm. Swim in a direction following the shoreline. If tired, float or tread water until out of the rip current.

We’re excited to share that we are officially open for the season with our regular spring hours! Join us Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00am to 4:00pm, with the last lighthouse climb at 3:30pm.

While the Keepers Cottage is receiving some much-needed exterior care, both the museum and museum store are open and ready to welcome you. Stop by to explore the history of Old Baldy, browse unique gifts, and climb to the top for one of the best views on the island.
