Much thanks to Trout Unlimited for their ongoing efforts in the Pere Marquette watershed - specifically their habitat improvement efforts on McDuffee Creek and Woody Creek that will be taking place this spring and summer. A few volunteer opportunities exist. If you have interest, please DM.

Additionally the Pere Marquette River has been identified as a Michigan "Priority Water" in a collaboration between Trout Unlimited and Michigan Trout Unlimited.

That means renewed attention for our watershed and a number of collaborative efforts to secure stronghold habitat, restore and reconnect habitat to expand on existing stronghold habitat, project groundwater recharge sources, work with landowners to promote riparian restoration/habitat improvement practices, protect and promote naturally reproducing native and wild trout populations.

Did you know that Traverse City is just over an hour away from Lost Trail Lodge? TC is the perfect family friendly day trip out. Having grown up in Traverse City, we had to check out a few of the local shops while there visiting with my Mom and Dad. And we found a few things to satisfy the road trip sweet tooth!
