In partnership with the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Elks National Veterans Service Commission has pledged to help end veteran homelessness, and ensure that every veteran has the safe, stable home they deserve. Most veterans move into their homes with nothing. The Elks have a solution for this situation. We are helping veterans establish their homes by providing them with "Welcome Home Kits". Generally, these kits include some small furniture, kitchenware, and cleaning supplies. Items can be new or used, donated or purchased.

Since the Welcome Home Kit Program's inception in 2024, the Clifton Park Elks have delivered 30 of these kits to Saratoga County veterans moving into their home for the first time; six of these were supplied this year!!! In the photo, an Army Veteran recieves a Welcome Home Kit on Staurday, August 29, from Clifton Elks Veteran Services Chair Toby Watkins.

"So long as there are veterans, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks will never forget them."

The Clifton Park Elks were proud to be a part the Town of Clifton Park's National Night Out on Tuesday, August 4. The event was sponsored by the Town's Parks and Recreation Department. National Night Out is an annual community building event that promotes police/community partnerships, and neighborhood camaraderie to enhance safety and create a strong sense of community. Big Sky Country put on a great concert as part of the program.

Lodge 2466 was present at the event with our Drug Awareness Program led by Chairman Sandy Weiner. Lori Monell and Nicole Harris helped support our information table and PER Bill Tierney stopped by to say hello. It was a great event for the children and parents to get some brochures, coloring books and crayons, colored pencils and candy. Overall a great turnout with warm and dry weather!!!!!
