🌲 NOW HIRING – HOUSEKEEPER 🌲

Valley Bear Farms & Resort is growing, and we’re looking for dependable local team members to join us in creating exceptional guest experiences in the beautiful mountains of Balsam Grove.

FULL-TIME HOUSEKEEPER

Our Housekeeper position is great for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys a hands-on role, and wants to help deliver a 5-star guest experience.

Schedule: Full-time, with some weekends and holidays required, since these are our busiest times for guests.

RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

✔ Cleaning and turning over cabins between guest stays

✔ Following cleaning checklists and quality standards

✔ Washing, drying, and restocking linens and laundry

✔ Reporting maintenance issues or damages

✔ Restocking guest amenities and supplies

✔ Using mobile apps to check off completed tasks

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

✅ Reliable and dependable

✅ Available to work some weekends and holidays

✅ Strong attention to detail

✅ Positive attitude and team player

✅ Comfortable using smartphones and apps

✅ Housekeeping or cleaning experience is a plus

✅ Local candidates preferred

Some stays fill your itinerary. Ours are designed to clear it. Breakfast outside while the morning takes its time. A quiet afternoon with a book, a drink, and nowhere else you need to be. Dinner on the grill as the light starts to fade. Then the hot tub, warm water, cool air, and the woods settling into silence around you.

At Valley Bear Farms, luxury feels a little different. It is privacy. Space. Comfort. Time that finally feels like your own.

The kind of weekend you wish lasted a little longer. 🤍

A cozy cabin in the woods, the dog tagging along, and everyone gathered around the fire. No packed itinerary. Just time to sit, talk, laugh, and finish a coffee without rushing out the door.

Your first visitors might have feathers. 🐦

On her first day at VBF, bird photographer Mary Kay Flick was sitting in her outdoor dining area when a family of four Red-breasted Nuthatches stopped by. She had chosen an A-Frame near the woods, and it didn’t take long to feel she’d picked the right spot.

Her September stay brought bird sightings along our wooded trails and trips to the nearby Blue Ridge Parkway, where she watched migrating warblers and hummingbirds feeding among the fall flowers. These photos capture a few of the highlights from her visit.

If your idea of a getaway includes fresh mountain air, time outdoors, and a little less on the agenda, come stay with us. Bring your binoculars. There’s plenty worth slowing down for.

The best weekends usually aren't the ones you plan down to the minute. 🍃

Maybe it's a little friendly competition on the pickleball court. A paddle around the pond. Some time in the sauna. Or staying by the fire longer than you meant to.

At Valley Bear Farms, there's plenty to fill your day. But there's something pretty nice about having nowhere else you need to be.

Just a different kind of weekend in the North Carolina mountains.
