🌊☀️ SPOTLIGHT SUNDAY: Mid-June Coasting & A Tropical Dessert Skillet! ☀️🌊
Happy Sunday from Bandon RV Park! Today is June 21st, 2026—a gorgeous, sunny day to celebrate the official arrival of summer on the southern Oregon coast. Whether you are packing up your rig after an unforgettable weekend getaway or rolling into your site to start a fresh week with us, Sunday on the coast is all about slowing down, breathing in the fresh salt air, and savoring sweet moments. 🚐💨✨

📜 Today in Bandon History (June 21st):
On this day in 1941, the Port of Bandon maritime registry noted a record-breaking single-day catch brought in by the local mosquito fleet (the small, nimble commercial fishing boats of the era). Favored by perfect summer weather, the fishermen successfully navigated the Coquille River bar and filled the historic waterfront docks with fresh salmon and crab. More than eight decades later, walking down that exact same flat path to watch the boats roll into the marina remains the ultimate Sunday tradition! ⚓🚢🌊

🍤 Local Business Spotlight: Tony's Crab Shack
Looking for the ultimate Sunday lunch or dinner to celebrate the first day of summer? Take a short stroll down to the boardwalk and grab a seat at Tony's Crab Shack!

The Vibe: Casual, lively, and located right on the water. It’s the quintessential Oregon Coast seafood shack where the staff makes you feel right at home.

The Recommendation: You cannot go wrong with their world-famous Dungeness Crab Sandwich or a piping hot bowl of their rich, creamy clam chowder.

Pro-Tip: Want to catch your own dinner instead? Tony’s also rents out crabbing rings and bait, and they will even steam your fresh catch right there on the dock for you! 🦀🍟🍤

🍍 Spotlight Sunday RV Kitchen: 15-Minute Cinnamon-Glazed Tropical Pineapple Skillet
Want a warm, caramelized treat that brings all the summer vibes to your picnic table without turning on your RV oven? This sweet, single-skillet recipe takes minutes and is incredibly delicious on a warm evening!

Ingredients:

1 fresh pineapple, cut into thick wedges (or 1 large can of pineapple slices, thoroughly drained and patted dry)

3 tbsp butter

3 tbsp brown sugar

1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

A pinch of salt

Optional: Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for topping!

The Quick Fix:

The Melt: Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat on your camp stove or outdoor grill grate.

The Sear: Lay the pineapple pieces down flat in the hot butter. Let them sear undisturbed for about 3 to 4 minutes until they develop beautiful, deeply caramelized brown edges. Flip and repeat on the other side.

The Glaze: Turn the heat down to low. Evenly sprinkle the brown sugar, cinnamon, and a tiny pinch of salt over the pineapple.

The Simmer: Gently turn the pineapple wedges a few times as the sugar dissolves into the butter. Let it bubble for 1 to 2 minutes until it forms a thick, rich, glossy caramel coating.

The Serve: Plate them warm, drizzle the extra warm glaze from the pan right over the top, and add a scoop of vanilla ice cream if you have it! 🍍🍦🔥

🛠️ RV Pro-Tip: The "Anti-Salt" Weekend Awning Rinse
Spending time on the coast means enjoying plenty of refreshing salt air, but that same salt film loves to settle on your RV components—especially your awning!
The Real Fix:

The Rollout: Before you pack up and head out onto the highway today, roll your awning all the way out.

The Rinse: Spray it down thoroughly with fresh water from your campground hose to wash away the sticky salt film, sand, and coastal pine needles before rolling it back up.

The Benefit: This quick, 5-minute step prevents mold, mildew, and salt-induced dry rot on your awning fabric, ensuring it looks brand new and works perfectly for years to come! 🚐🚿☀️🔧

Whether you are rolling into your site today to kick off a fresh week of coastal exploration, or you are settling in after a long travel day, Motive Tuesday is all about gaining momentum, resetting your rhythm, and embracing the scenic beauty of the southern Oregon coast. 🚐💨✨

📜 Today in Bandon History (June 16th):
On this day in 1921, early logs from the Port of Bandon celebrated the expansion of the regional mail carrier routes connecting Bandon to neighboring beach towns via the historic coastal highway. Before these expanded routes, moving goods and news along the rugged southern Oregon coast was a slow, day-long trek. This milestone made it easier for travelers and merchants alike to stay connected while enjoying the coast. Today, we continue that tradition by making sure you have everything you need to stay plugged in while enjoying the deep peace of our seaside home! ⚓📬🌊

🥞 Local Business Spotlight: Bandon Coffee Cafe
Need a perfect morning jumpstart or a local spot to plan out your weekly travel route? Take a quick walk right into Old Town and pull up a chair at Bandon Coffee Cafe!

The Vibe: A warm, community-centered gathering space lined with gorgeous works by local artists. It’s the ultimate spot to swap travel stories and feel like a local.

Pro-Tip: They have a wonderful loyalty rewards program and spaces to plug in your devices if you need to tackle a little remote work outside the rig! ☕🥯🎨

🍳 Motive Tuesday RV Kitchen: 15-Minute Skillet Breakfast Hash
Get a high-energy start to your day with a savory, warm breakfast that cooks entirely in one pan! This quick-fix hash utilizes clever campground shortcuts so you can get fueled up and out the door to explore without a mountain of dirty dishes.

Ingredients:

1 can (15 oz) diced white potatoes, thoroughly drained (canned potatoes are pre-cooked, saving massive time and propane!)

1/2 lb smoked kielbasa or summer sausage, sliced into rounds

1/2 bell pepper, diced

4 large eggs

2 tbsp butter or oil

Salt, pepper, and shredded cheddar cheese for topping

The Quick Fix:

The Sizzle: Heat the butter or oil in a large cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Toss in the sliced smoked kielbasa and diced bell peppers, sautéing for 3 to 4 minutes until the sausage gets beautifully browned edges.

The Crispy Potatoes: Add the drained diced canned potatoes to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper, and stir gently. Let the potatoes cook undisturbed for 4 to 5 minutes so they pick up a beautiful, golden-brown crust from the sausage drippings.

The Eggs: Turn the heat down to medium-low. Use your spoon to create 4 small wells in the potato mixture, and crack an egg directly into each well.

The Melt & Steam: Sprinkle your favorite shredded cheese over the top, then cover the skillet tightly with a lid or a sheet of aluminum foil. Let it steam for 4 to 5 minutes until the egg whites are fully set but the yolks remain perfectly soft and runny.

The Serve: Slide the hash straight from the skillet onto your plate and enjoy a hot, comforting breakfast right at your picnic table! 🍳🥓🔥

🛠️ RV Pro-Tip: The "Mid-Week" Slide-Out Inspection
Since summer travel is in full swing, it’s the perfect time to do a quick 5-minute maintenance check on your RV slide-outs to keep them operating smoothly all summer long!
The Real Fix:

The Top Check: Before pulling your slides in today, look at the roof of the slide boxes. Ensure no coastal pine needles, twigs, or salty debris are trapped on top, which can tear your rubber bulb seals.

The Seal Inspection: Run your hand along the rubber wiper seals. If they feel dry, brittle, or powdery, spray them down with a premium RV slide-out seal conditioner to keep them pliable and UV-protected.

The Benefit: Keeping your seals lubricated and clean prevents expensive rainwater leaks during sudden coastal showers and keeps your slide motors running effortlessly! 🚐✨🔧

🌊🛒 SOCIAL SATURDAY: Weekend Vibes & Campground Cobbler! 🛒🌊
Happy Saturday from Bandon RV Park! The weekend is in full swing, the skies are beautiful, and the energy around the park is fantastic. Saturday is all about connection—connecting with neighbors, exploring our local community, and enjoying the relaxed rhythm of the southern Oregon coast. 🚐💨☀️

📜 Today in Bandon History (May 30th):
On this day in 1939, local fishermen gathered at the Port of Bandon docks to celebrate the launch of a newly designed, locally built commercial crabbing boat. Bandon has always been a premier hub for seafaring innovation, and our tight-knit community has spent generations perfecting the art of harvesting the Pacific Ocean. It’s a wonderful piece of history to look back on as you walk down to the docks today to drop a crab pot or watch the boats roll in! ⚓🦀🌊

🍓 Social Saturday RV Kitchen: 10-Minute Skillet Berry Cobbler
Want a warm, bubbly dessert to share with your campground neighbors tonight without washing a mountain of dishes? This clever recipe uses a brilliant campground shortcut and cooks perfectly right on your outdoor camp stove!

Ingredients:

1 can (21 oz) marionberry or blackberry pie filling

1 cup fresh blueberries or sliced strawberries

1 tube (16.3 oz) refrigerated flaky layers buttermilk biscuits

2 tbsp butter, melted

1 tbsp cinnamon sugar

The Quick Fix:

The Base: In a medium cast-iron skillet, stir together the canned pie filling and the fresh berries.

The Cobbler Crust: Open the tube of biscuits. Separate them and cut each biscuit into quarters. Arrange the biscuit pieces evenly over the top of the berry mixture.

The Sweet Finish: Brush the tops of the biscuit pieces with the melted butter and sprinkle the cinnamon sugar generously over the top.

The Bake: Cover the skillet tightly with a sheet of aluminum foil. Place it over medium-low heat on your camp stove (or low campfire coals) for 10 to 12 minutes until the biscuits are cooked through, fluffy, and the berry juice is hot and bubbling.

The Serve: Remove the foil and let it sit for 2 minutes to cool slightly, then spoon it out warm into bowls! 🍓🥣🔥

🛠️ RV Pro-Tip: The Weekend "Water Pressure" Safety Reset
On sunny weekend mornings, campgrounds get incredibly busy. When everyone showers and washes dishes at the exact same time, water pressure can fluctuate across the park.
The Real Fix: 1. The Regulator: Always use a brass water pressure regulator attached directly to the campground spigot before your drinking hose. While pressure might dip during peak morning hours, it can spike dangerously high late at night when everyone turns their faucets off.
2. The Boost Trick: If you prefer a high-pressure shower during the busy morning rush, simply turn your RV's internal 12V water pump on to draw from your fresh water tank for a temporary pressure boost.
3. The Benefit: The regulator protects your interior plumbing lines from high-pressure leaks, while the pump trick guarantees a great shower anytime! 🚐🚿💧🔧
