Please read this important notice about water quality from Bantam Lake Protective Association

This is the time of year we typically see algae blooms as the lake has started to de-stratify/mix for Fall turnover. This past week the lake had many areas where blooms were present.

Shout out to our campground assistant, Dan! Camper Kelly shared great story about Dan that we wanted to highlight.

"My family has been camping at Point Folly for over 30 years. I camped there with my parents, aunts and uncles, sisters and brothers when I was little. Now I have 2 kids who can’t wait for camp at point folly every summer. We just got home from two weeks there and I have to tell you how BLOWN AWAY I was with one of the members of the staff. Check in day, we had asked if maybe our site could be mowed a little before we arrived and we couldn’t believe how thorough Dan was with our site. He said he wanted to make sure it was perfect for us. He mowed, w**d whacked, picked up any remnants of garbage left, and asked us if we were pleased. I told him that my dad, who just wanted to sit by the water and fish, is going to be so happy with how well he cleared it out, and he proceeded to say “well let me get my rake so I can clear out the perfect spot for him”. My kids were so thrilled with how kind and hard working he was that they made him a card! He never stops! He said he was just going his job, but I wanted you to know, you have an absolute gem working with you at White Memorial. He kept things clean, was there when you needed him, and made my kids and all their cousins feel so special when they visited the camp store. I say a raise is in order, however, if that isn’t available, Please just let him know the impact he has on the campers and that we appreciate his effort and hard work! Thank you very much! "

Michael had great things to say about his many years with us! "Have been camping at Point Folly for many years. My grandkids who are from 18-22 do not know a summer without Point Folly. John and his staff are awesome. We all love it here!"
