The Cort gets assistance from a tug as it goes thru the river system. Due to it running on one prop the tug is running along its side ready to help if needed on the tight turns past the Island.

Gale warnings on the Great Lakes today so we took a little road trip up to Whitefish point to check it out. Glad to see on Marine traffic apps most boats are in safe harbor. Waves are predicted to be 20 to 30 ft in some areas. Our son is on the Cort and they are down to one prop and having steering issues. We are happy to see they got to safe harbor down around Escanaba.

Here's a few pics on what to do in the U.p. of Michigan when you're not chasing Freighters. We left Neebish Island on a beautiful day on our side x sides and went to the Cozy Corners to sign up for their Scavenger Hunt ride for Hospice. What a great fundraiser for hospice and a great time to hit the trails with lots and lots of people on their machines.

The Cort is on its way up this morning going past Neebish Island. She had a long stay in the dry dock for repairs and is now only running with one prop . The Cort will be doing this for a few trips then back into the dry dock for final repairs. Then back out on the water to finish out the season.

Mornings with Buck the Boat nerd on Neebish Island. My day usually starts with grabbing my favorite hat from Interlake Steamship Company, making a mug of coffee and stuffing my pocket full of treats for Buck. Off we go on the side x side looking for Frieghters and other cool pics. Do you think Buck likes the ride or just wants more treats ?
