On November 27th in Kentucky, the 16 Annual “Light Up Bardstown” Christmas celebration officially opens the holiday season in one of the Bluegrass State’s most charming, historic little towns! Taking place from 6 PM to 8 PM, this free celebration fills downtown Bardstown’s beautiful Court Square with Christmas lights, holiday music, and family fun. The highlight of the evening is the lighting of the town’s large Christmas tree, along with glowing wreaths, decorated lampposts, shining stars, and thousands of twinkling lights hanging throughout the surrounding trees. Historic buildings and storefronts provide a beautiful backdrop as families gather around the square to enjoy the festivities. Beginning at 6 PM, Christmas Corner offers activities for children, including face painting and special holiday treats. You can enjoy hot cocoa, grab something sweet from local vendors, and listen to Christmas music while exploring the decorated downtown streets. Children can write letters to Santa and drop them into the giant red mailbox on Court Square. Santa Claus will also be there to greet families and pose for Christmas pictures. With its historic downtown setting and beautiful lights, Bardstown offers a wonderful old-fashioned Kentucky Christmas experience for the whole family!
