Hello, I am all for free enterprise, but wanted to mention the fees that can be attached to Airbnb rentals. This local rental indicates $180 a night, but after cleaning fee and Airbnb fee, you are looking at $310 a night actual costs. Our fees at The Firehouse Inn are simple, 9% State Tax, 1% Local Tax. That's it. Tipping the cleaning lady is always appreciated, but that's your choice. There are over 989 Airbnb's in the Central Vermont Area alone, and this trend will continue. Just be sure to look at the fine print before you submit, whether locally or traveling out of town. Happy Friday!

Last night's Varsity Ultimate Frisbee game against Middlebury. Brody scored 2 goals and had some assist. Was a great game! Both Varsity and JV won their matches! PVI Tournament this weekend in MA...40 teams! Wish them some luck!!! 🍀 🙏 prayers always welcome too!! 💕 Thank you!

Brody will be off to Plymouth State in the fall! 🍂 We went to an Open House on Saturday, and he was accepted. He wants to be a High School English Teacher. I couldn't be more proud of him! They have Volleyball, Tennis, Ultimate Frisbee, Snowboarding, and E- Sports! All the things he enjoys. My Southpaw is going to be a Panther! ❤️

Hillary was a college student traveling through Barre back to Maine. Her mom called from Maine, and I could hear the fear in her voice. I told her how to "break in" to Firehouse (legally) and get to a guest room. I never imagined this young lady would send such a beautiful card, and amazing care package. Very proud of this girl. 🙏

Please donate if you can! Tracy was Brody's home visit nurse when he was born. If she was not there, he may not be here today. Because of her quick response, she had us get Brody to the hospital as quickly as possible. He was very yellow, and his bilirubin number was 27 (I was told 30 is tops). As a new mom, i thought he just needed more sun. Once at CVMC, they talked of transferring Brody to Burlington to get a blood transfusion, but thankfully 🙏 the numbers reversed. I am forever grateful for Tracy Taylor. I pray she beats this. She is a kind soul. Please help. Thank you. -Valerie
