Firehouse Inn

I say it 1,000 times over, I have the best staff, front and back of house, the Inn staff too, and it shows! Crazy busy, and they are still smiling and getting it done. So grateful for each one of them. ❤️ Valerie

A new review! They were wonderful guests.

5.0 Excellent

Hands down the most charming place I've ever stayed! We stayed in the Captain's Quarters. We got to meet the owner in the morning. She was super friendly and authentic. Told us about the place's history as a real firehouse. She'd kept so much of the original character - from stained glass windows to the old switchboard. The hall had the old firefighters' portraits. There were several suites upstairs and a small lounge. Downstairs was a pub, which we sadly arrived too late to eat at, but was all decked out for Halloween. I was impressed with how spotless the place was. I have allergies and will get stuffy if there's a speck of dust, but despite the suite having many soft surfaces, I was symptom-free and slept like the dead. The other guests were visibly just as thrilled with their stay as we were. Each room had different furnishings but the same style. VERY sumptuous colours and textures. Absolutely gorgeous. The only things I found a little odd about the place were the tiny showerhead and the confusing entrance. But other than that, I'd have lived here if I could. We absolutely loved it. Can't recommend it enough. - Finley, NYC

Thanks to Jenny Ciampaglia for the awesome review! Our entire staff is second to none! I am so happy they enjoyed the Halloween decorations and The Tunbridge Fair!

There is an old telephone switchboard in the lounge upstairs similar to the one my mother (Norine "Poochie" Moruzzi) worked on years ago. This one came from St. Michael's College. I can't explain the noise they heard, this is a first for me, but I will keep my ears open! -Valerie

Hello, I am all for free enterprise, but wanted to mention the fees that can be attached to Airbnb rentals. This local rental indicates $180 a night, but after cleaning fee and Airbnb fee, you are looking at $310 a night actual costs. Our fees at The Firehouse Inn are simple, 9% State Tax, 1% Local Tax. That's it. Tipping the cleaning lady is always appreciated, but that's your choice. There are over 989 Airbnb's in the Central Vermont Area alone, and this trend will continue. Just be sure to look at the fine print before you submit, whether locally or traveling out of town. Happy Friday!
