Driveway edge restoration in Milton.

Both sides of this driveway were done in river rock over w**d barrier, with plastic edging along the grass side. The barrier had given up, it was filling in with w**ds and pine needles, and the homeowners were tired of looking at it. It wasn’t doing anything for runoff either.

We pulled out the stone, the fabric, and the edging, brought in loam, and seeded and strawed it. In a few weeks the lawn will run right up to the pavement.

Wrapped up a driveway and parking area at a lake house in Holderness.

Regraded and rebuilt the base with crushed gravel and ledge pack, then topped it with crushed stone and compacted the whole thing. Built the crown so water sheds instead of sitting in ruts. Added parking off the side of the house and set granite boulders to hold the slope along the edge.

A driveway is one of those things nobody notices until it’s washing out every spring. Get the base and the pitch right and it stays put.

Boat parking pad wrapped up!

Up next at this property:

• Removing the existing drainage stone on both sides of their driveway, filling with loam, and planting grass.

• Removing an old garden bed along the entire front of their house and replacing it with a 450 sq. ft paver patio.

Quick job this morning for a new customer right here in Barrington. Had a brush pile in his backyard that was in his way — we loaded it up, hauled it out, and disposed of it.

Making great progress on this driveway project at Squam Lake in Holderness! All roots/rocks/stumps are out, ledge pack base is down, and the entire driveway is graded out. Next up we will be compacting the new base, topping everything with a new layer of crushed stone, and compacting that to create a rock solid, long lasting, well draining driveway - all as designed.

We love projects like this - every property up here has its own set of challenges, whether it’s grade, access, or working around the natural landscape. This one’s had a bit of everything.
