Introducing… Theme Weeks! For the first time ever Camp Hidden Meadows is introducing weekly themes for the entire summer! Themes will be used in programming all around camp throughout the week, but mainly during evening programs.

We are so excited to be announcing this now, so campers can arrive at camp prepared to dress up, if they’d like. Take a look at what you may already have at home! Check for the week(s) your camper is attending and start planning how they will join the fun!

For the first time ever Camp Hidden Meadows is hosting a design contest for TWO very special items being sold in the Camp Store this summer! 🎨👕📮🖼️

All campers registered for camp this summer are invited to submit a design for a t-shirt and/or a postcard!

Winning designs will be sold as official CHM merchandise, with a portion of proceeds going towards our Campership fund.

To submit, please follow the instructions linked in our bio! We can’t wait to see what our creative campers come up with!! Submissions close March 16th at 11:59pm.

To celebrate Valentine’s Day, Camp Hidden Meadows is hosting a virtual party on Wednesday February 11th!

All campers from summer 2025, and those registered for summer 2026 are invited (and encouraged) to attend! Parents, check your emails for the zoom link AND gain access to some exclusive CHM coloring sheets. You can look forward to getting some CHM updates, playing games, and connecting with our incredible CHM community!

Our fourth and final Core Value at Camp Hidden Meadows is Respect. Here at camp, our entire community is built on respect for each other, our environment, and ourselves!

Camp Hidden Meadows is a place where all are welcome, and where every camper belongs. Overnight camp has never been more valuable for kids than it is today. The opportunities for acceptance and exploration that foster confidence and independence are unmatched anywhere else.

Surrounded by National Forest lands including the Monongahela National Forest, we are fortunate that our location allows us easy access to some of the most notable recreational areas on the east coast, which serve as incredible vehicles for learning, connection with nature, and expansion of world view.

Camp Hidden Meadows is also proud to employ top-notch counselors that come from all over the country and world! Mostly consisting of students, graduates and teachers, last summer, we had staff from 10 different countries and 14 states.

We hope you’ve enjoyed learning about our Core Values over the past four posts! Adventure, Community, Confidence, and Respect inform and guide everything we do at Camp Hidden Meadows and make up an important part of our culture.

Our third core value is Confidence! ✅🙋🌠💪😎

Camp Hidden Meadows is a safe and nurturing environment where campers feel comfortable pushing themselves out of their comfort zones. Our beautiful grounds, tucked away in the Allegheny Mountains, provide every camper with the room to breathe and connect with nature, others, and themselves.

We follow a “Challenge by Choice” philosophy. This means our community supports saying “yes” to something on your terms. We ensure campers feel confident to explore every activity that interests them, without the pressures of grades, competition, or superlatives.

Don’t just take our word for it!

“We picked up my daughter from camp after her first week at Camp Hidden Meadows, and her first full week of sleepaway camp. The kid we picked up yesterday is a different kid than the one we dropped off a week ago.

She is more confident, happier, and has a light in her eye that is brand new. She has always been a happy kid, easy to make friends etc. Still she was nervous about camp. Quite honestly we were nervous after dropping her off and making her bed in the cabin. There was no need to be. We should have been nervous that she wouldn’t want to come home.

Our second core value at Camp Hidden Meadows is Community! 🏘️🥏👏🪩🎶🏕️

From cabins, to villages, to camp as a whole, community can be found in every part of camp.

Cabin Life is one of the most important elements of the summer camp experience, and our staff do not disappoint in creating the most welcoming home away from home. Some of the best memories are created inside the cabin!

We love to see our campers grow year after year, celebrating them in our 3/5/8/10 year club, and watch as many become CITs, and staff members!

Every Friday at camp is a celebration of the community we’ve built over the week. After an epic Closing Camper, the whole camp gets to enjoy a Block Party.

Campers go home feeling a sense of belonging and understanding their ability to contribute to a larger community. Campers, parents, and staff, are all important parts of our community. Once you join our CHM community, you’re a part of it forever!

At Camp Hidden Meadows, we have four Core Values that make up an important part of our mission and philosophy. We’ll be shining a spotlight on each of the Core Values. Up first: Adventure! 🏕️🧗🛶🚵‍♂️🏞️

Whether it’s your first or 10th year, every summer at Camp Hidden Meadows is a unique opportunity for adventure.

Because every camper gets to design their daily workshop schedule, “Adventure” can be customized to every individual’s preference and pace.

Every camper also has the opportunity to go on one New Adventure for each week they attend CHM. New Adventures are off-property trips that explore our incredible state of West Virginia.
