Let’s talk about crystal!

If you’re like me, you’ve collected a lot of plain glass vases over the years from gifts of flowers.

Shop with me to grab a few good quality crystal vases and tell your hubby to just bring home the flowers. Real crystal is much lovelier.

Also, in our Whatnot shop are several collected glass dishes that can be used as candleholders. (And lots of other things) When the candles are burning inside, the crystal patterns give off lovely shimmers of light.

These are great for making your own candles or just dropping votive inside!

The truth is, I find things everywhere I go. Most of my house is collected; thrifted, Goodwill, side of the road finds that you just can’t get anywhere else. So I’ve decided to start a little Whatnot shop called Birdsong Landing Vintage to share pretty things and ideas with you.

Meet my boy Henry! I need help re-homing him. He was SUPPOSED to be a hen…unfortunately, he’s turned out to be a HE and he’s making the folks next door angry because he’s found his voice. They have asked us to find a new home for him.

He’s a Barr Rock, 4 months old, as you can see, he’s a very handsome fella. His tail has only just started to come in. He has been trained to eat out of my hand and is great with his two ladies. He has quite a personality and is my favorite of my new flock. (Don’t tell the others!)

If you or anyone you might share this with can give him a nice new safe home. PLEASE DM me. Many many thanks!

Hello Fall…I see you!
Who here likes to set intentions?

I have one this year…that’s to be INTENTIONAL about resting between now and Halloween.

Because after that, it’s a fast passed run to all the big holidays and we all know what that means.

Decorating, baking, meal prep, shopping, wrapping, addressing, clean up & parties, parties, parties! The most joyful time of the year, but, it can wear a woman out.

I, for one, want to head onto the holidays knowing I’m rested and ready. I also want my focus to be on the reason for this most blessed season and not in overwhelm from over work.

Spotted a couple deer on the bank across the lake. Saw lots of fish jumping, but too chill to go grab the poles.

We have guests at Birdsong Landing this weekend, so it’s time for some special southern touches….

Donnie’s mom’s cast iron skillet to start plus…

Garden fresh potatoes & onions going in the hash browns and my yummy special recipe yellow stone grown grits.

Don’t like grits you say?? Well….you’ve never tried mine! 😉
