The camp hosts youth day camps and outdoor school and rents the camp for group camping and special events. At Camp Hope connections are made, friendships are formed, lives are changed, and hope is restored. We are an educational, non-profit 501c3 youth camp, established in 2012, and nestled just a couple of minutes north of Battle Ground, WA. Because of the generous support of our community, Camp
Hope, is beneficial to all youth, especially the low-income, underserved and at-risk. Over 6% of Clark County’s children are in foster care, and those age 6 to 17 years old, are the second largest group living in poverty in our county. The Adverse Childhood Experience
Study (ACEs), shows that youth who experience trauma are at a much higher risk of choosing substance abuse, risky behavior,
and suicide to deal with their pain. Research shows when at-risk youth experience summer camps, their confidence in themselves and in their future rises significantly. Additional skills acquired through the camp experience include decision making, developing healthy friendships, leadership skills, teamwork and team-building and healthier self-esteem. Youth with these skills build resilience, have a more positive outlook for their future, and make healthier decisions that will in turn create a long-term impact of healthier families and a stronger community.
