UPDATE ON ZOAR ROAD FIRE…
Notice to Baxley and Appling County Citizens Regarding Zoar Road Fire
While this fire continues to burn, GFC estimates it is 75% contained. There is a substantial amount of smoke in the area that could settle into low areas overnight. Please avoid this location if possible as crews will be on scene throughout the night. Use extra caution if you must travel into the affected area. As a reminder, ALWAYS yield to emergency personnel on the roadway. Updates will be shared as additional information becomes available. Fire risk remains high. Please DO NOT BURN ANYTHING.

Notice to Appling County and City of Baxley Citizens: There is currently an active wildfire in the Zoar Road area between Nails Mobley Road and Prentiss Road. City and County Fire Personnel and Georgia Forestry are on scene working to contain the fire. This is an active scene with a moving wildfire. Avoid the area unless vitally necessary. Residents in the immediate area continue to monitor communications via the Appling Ready App, social media and radio. We ask that you pray for the brave men and women fighting this fire.
