This coming Sunday, May 24, would have been my mom Jan Davis 81st birthday. We miss her every day (and she is thought of like 6000 times a day) but so grateful to be able to continue to nurture the place and the people she loved so dearly 5 Branches Camper Park. Kicking off our 31st season thinking of her! happy Birthday mama. You are so missed.

After 31 years in my family, I’m officially stepping into next-generation ownership of 5 Branches Camper Park alongside my dad.

This place—and the generations of “family” who have come through it—raised me. okay, well maybe I was 19 when my mom and dad bought it from the Binks', but they still did a lot of raising! It feels strange now to be welcoming the kids of the kids who spent summer's with us in the early days.

As I leap into this next chapter, there are some changes on the horizon. The biggest? Online reservations are coming in 2027 (so keep us on speed dial for 2026) and a social media presence.

But at its core, this place will stay what my mom envisioned it to be:

a space grounded in friendship (she always said to lead with friendship and the rest falls into place!) , community, connection, legacy, and a deep respect for our planet.

That part doesn’t change.

Season kicks off May 16, and I feel incredibly lucky to carry this vision forward alongside my dad.
