We’ve reached an opportunity to sit for the California Contractor’s License exam. After five years of hard work, we finally meet the full qualification requirements—but part of the exam is only offered in California.

The deadline is October 20, and postponing is no longer an option. What stands in the way are plane tickets. With less than two months left, I really just need to focus on my studies, work, and taking care of Phoenix.

We had a great time volunteering at the 21st annual Buddy Brown Festival at Perigot Park! Phoenix did an excellent job taking payments and overseeing the guest and membership lists. The food was excellent and the music was fantastic! Thank you Humboldt Folklife Society for putting in this amazing event!

Today was our favorite day! We had clients in Miranda and made an epic adventure out of it with Ohso in tow! We discovered the best swimming hole with a hidden rope swing, and snorkeled and saw so many many trout ❤️ best way to keep cool on a hot day!

Our client paid good money to a hardware store to build their screens, all of which did not fit and the frames were warped. After the store refused to fix them free of charge, our clients called us. We came out and measured, disassembled, cut, and reinstalled the fitting frames. Turns out, we found that the warping of the frame was partially caused by a “cover-up cut“ 🕵🏻‍♀️ the screening was accidentally cut way too short (by going too fast) that it didn’t reach the spline channel. So instead of replacing the screening, the previous builder stretched it to fit and used the splining to secure it. However, this puts pressure on the framing causing them to bow or warp and not fit to the window properly. This was a great reminder as to why it’s important to do things the right way even if you make a mistake and have to start over. Needless to say, our client thanked us and we are glad we could help 💪🏼
