A few FAQ's about tomorrow's (June 19th) FIFA World Cup Watch Party!
⚽️No beach badge is required. Life Guards and badge checking start on June 20th. We will have lifeguards on the beach for the event in case you want to swim!
⚽️Bring your own beach chairs or blankets.
⚽️DJ Lotta will begin the party at 1pm and the game starts at 3pm.
⚽️We have a limited amount of free goodies for the kids and free Face Painting! Michelob ULTRA will have adult games and prizes!
⚽️Alliance for a Living Ocean will have their free water bottle refill station there!
⚽️On the beach, beer & adult seltzers will be sold and some non-alcoholic choices. All proceeds from the bar support Alliance for a Living Ocean
⚽️2 food trucks for food and other NA beverages! Delicias Sobre Ruedas& Five Sisters Food Co they will be located on Ocean Blvd.

‼️‼️‼️Street Closures: Ocean Blvd will be closed from 67th St to 71 st Street. And 68th St will be closed from the Beach Badge Shack to Ocean Blvd ‼️‼️‼️

As summer gets underway, LBI and the surrounding shore area become much busier with visitors, seasonal events, nightlife, vacations, and increased rideshare activity.

With the FIFA World Cup here and summer travel in full swing, our local Police Departments reminds everyone to keep rideshare safety in mind and remember Sami’s Law.

Before getting into any rideshare vehicle, ask, “What’s my name?” and remember S.A.M.I.:

STOP — Plan ahead before requesting a ride and choose a safe pickup location.

ASK — Ask the driver, “What’s my name?” before getting into the vehicle.

MATCH — Match the driver, vehicle make and model, and license plate with the information in the app.

INFORM — Share your trip details with a trusted friend or family member.

If something feels wrong, do not get in the vehicle. Cancel the ride, move to a safe location, and call for help if needed.

The Blue Envelope Program is a program designed to help autistic drivers and other neurodivergent drivers have safer, less stressful interactions with police during traffic stops.

The Long Beach Township Police Department is proud to introduce the Blue Envelope Program — a community initiative focused on improving safety and communication between police officers and drivers on the autism spectrum during traffic stops.

We understand that flashing lights, sirens, and the general stress of being pulled over can be especially overwhelming for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder. That’s where the Blue Envelope comes in. Clearly marked for easy recognition by officers, the envelope indicates that the driver may have different communication needs or responses during the interaction.

This voluntary program provides a blue envelope for individuals to store important documents like a driver’s license, registration, insurance information, and emergency contacts — all in one place for quick and easy access.

Each envelope also contains clear instructions for both the driver and responding officers. Drivers receive guidance on what to do during a traffic stop, while officers and first responders are given tips on recognizing signs of autism and responding with patience, understanding, and clarity.

Envelopes are now available for pickup at our police headquarters!

One of the things that makes LBI special is how quickly this community shows up for one another.

After the fire at Wally’s, the support has been incredible. Now, local artist .block.prints is stepping up too. Today, 50% of the profits from print sales at will be donated to Wally’s to help support the business during this difficult time. ❤️
