On mother's day, I had the privilege of visiting Cyprus Wetlands in Port Royal, Beaufort South Carolina. It is mating seasons, so we have birds building nests, alligators, looking for mates, and the occasional snake. A very noisy and social environment for sure.

Fun fact: Did you know that Lady's Island was given its name 326 years ago, back in 1698? It was named in honor of Lady Elizabeth Axtell Blake, the wife of Joseph Blake, who was the governor of colonial South Carolina.
