We still haven't disclosed what our new build is gonna be yet, but I think mother nature is suggesting we build an ark!
Just like with the dome, John and I are doing all the work ourselves. Due to our "real jobs", we haven't had alot of time to work on the Fayetteville property. We were, however, nearly finished with a long, meandering driveway up to the build site. We were taking our time to make it stable and strong enough for heavy equipment and concrete trucks. Mother nature did not approve.
When we came back from Barbados we discovered that the terrible flooding in Fayetteville got us too. We were very fortunate to not suffer as much damage as other folks, but our driveway took a pretty hard hit. All the gravel washed off the culvert that got plugged up with driftwood and mud. You couldn't even drive a smart car over the culvert, let alone a concrete truck!
But, as we always do, we said a few cuss words, then put our heads down and got to work! In two days and 25 tons of gravel later we are almost back to where we were!
Unfortunately, with all the setbacks, we definitely won't have the new place open this year. We are still hoping to get to a point that we can reveal what we are building and maybe show off some of the unique decor we have been curating! We seem to have some fans who have copied alot of the aspects that have made our dome a success, so we don't want to reveal our plans too soon. We work hard to design and build completely unique travel experiences for our guests, so we will continue to keep a lid on the plans for now. We promise, the wait will be worth it!
