Our wildlife moms are VERY happy this spring ! There is one mom and fawn that just bounce around here like ping pong balls. I have yet to see the fawn standing still :) Mom and dad fox are back. They hang out near the camp store but do not often "show themselves". I have a gal here who hopefully will get my camera and computer on speaking terms so look forward to pics in the near future! The doctors are making some headway on my medical problems so if I continue to improve I may have more campers staying soon. It has been a good week and I have met some wonderful new friends this season. Keep "Mike" in your thoughts as he fights some health battles. Mike has been camping here for years. Enjoy your weekend everyone, Lin

The new old rust bucket has been delivered so that I can continue free firewood delivery. Donations appreciated to help pay for it. ISO an auto mechanic that wants to earn a little $ on the side checking and probably working on the brakes. Thanks

Sorry , no firewood delivery till I get another truck. The camp Clunker bit the dust this morning :(

The new bear resistant dumpster is here and the destroyed one is gone. My OCD self hates it's new location. It will have to stay where it is for the rest of the season. I am not allowing any folks here for the remainder of the week. Hopefully a week of no temptation and the new dumpster location will deter my hopefully passing visitor. Also, it has been reported in case he becomes a problem bear. In that case they are trapped and relocated. The county has given me permission to remove all trash cans from the sites . I doubt that will be done before the holidays. Folks will be responsible for removing their own trash. I may offer that service for an additional fee. I'll see how it goes first. Camp on and don't feed the bear;)

I don't like to rant but it's time... I have not had a Bear problem till one camper recently. The dude didn't take his trash to the can for 4 days. Left candy , chips , franks and beans, meat etc in his tent and around his site. He didn't put his rain fly on and all that crap and his stuff got ruined. He said a bear visited his camp site. NO way ! Maybe a raccoon but I know Bear damage and I took pics when his stuff wasn't gone and his time was up. Hey dude, "thanks for inviting them" ( sarcasm ). So, last night a bear DID get in my dumpster and I spent the morning trying to clean that mess up. The dumpster has been ruined. Now costs will have to go up if people continue to abuse my trash collecting services ( free ). The new and sturdier dumpster will cost more, I will have to move it's location and from now on I am collecting one trash can per site per day. any additional pickups will require a dumpinng fee. If you brought equipment and it breaks take it home and dispose of it there. The new dumpsters are smaller and have a small opening. AKA I cant cram your giant tent in it. Someone even left a love seat here once. Every time this happens I have to hire someone to help me ( my truck won't make it to the dump ). Is it a good idea to continue picking up household trash collection or should I just have people dump their own trash? Ideas? I guess in the mean time I will order a couple cans of Bear spray to sell in the store and some air horns. I would suggest people order these on line prior to their stay. I may not always have them in stock. I do not encourage fi****ms here but I will carry a blank pistol ( starter pistol ) that carries 6 blanks. AKA loud cap gun There are simple things folks can do to help #1 squish you your can and water bottles, pick up your bottle caps, don't throw can ,bottles or plastic in your fire-rings. Flatten your cardboard boxes. I'm sorry for the rant but without folks help I can't remain open. LEAVE NO TRACE BEHIND. Sincerely , Lil ole Lin

THIS AND THAT......THIS is beautiful weather. THAT is a great reason to camp :) Things are coming together. Almost all the spring mowing is done. Almost all the firewood is cut and stacked. All the outhouses have new solar Christmas lights. 6 sites have new trash can posts and signs. Next week I will start painting the inside of an outhouse. I try to do 2 each year. I still have 5 picnic tables to rebuild :(. I'm still restricting the number of campers I can host due to medical issues. I try to stay under 7 sets of campers at a time. No Drama is really key to me being able to continue. I hope to see you all soon :)

Howdy friends. I would like to say sorry in advance. I am having ongoing health issue and due to that I will have to seriously restrict the number of campers I can give good service to :( At this moment I will no longer be hosting folks who call the day that they want to come in. I pray that this changes but as of now " it is what it is". Again, I'm sorry. I love me job but am not capable of doing what I used to do.

Attention all you cat lovers !There is a BEAUTIFUL longhaired back cat hanging around here. She wants to come in my house and accepts petting ( with an occasional claw-less swat if she has had enough). I haven't actually checked to make sure if this is a male or female but at quick check it's either a female or very young male. My cats are completely freaked out. I will try to tame her enough to get her in a crate. She has only one small mat that I can feel on brief petting and big green( sometimes yellow ) eyes. Given the age I suspect she is and the time of year I would not be surprised if she could be pregnant ( a stray B&W shorthaired cat visited a couple weeks ago). Either way I will work with her as time dictates and see where it goes from there.

Well my spring campers are starting to come :) I have 3 outhouses to re-paint and 11 picnic tables to switch out but aside from that all is good. Warm those bones today, it is beautiful out !
