July 02 thru July 05 • 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm | Beech Mountain History Museum
The Beech Mountain History Museum will be open from Thursday- Sunday 1:00 to 4:00 pm. This small museum, operated by the Beech Mountain Historical Society, seeks to preserve the history of the mountain by educating locals and visitors about its unique history. Admission is free. Located adjacent to Fred’s General Mercantile. For more information, call 828-387-2930.
July 03 • 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm | Beech Mountain Farmers Market
Fresh organic produce, honey, baked goods, plants, microgreens, gourmet dog treats, and farm raised beef are just a few of the local products that will be available for purchase. Stop by every first Friday of the month from June to October from 2 – 6 pm in the public parking lot (101 Bark Park Way) across from Fred’s General Mercantile.
July 03 • 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm | Family Fun Night
Join this friendly family outdoor event at The Famous Brick Oven Pizzeria every Friday night from June through mid-August. Includes live music (5:30 – 8:45 pm), a bounce house (4:00-7:30 pm) and outdoor movies (8:45 pm on selected nights 7/10 & 7/24). The event is free with food and beverage available for purchase inside. (all events are weather dependent). Live music by the band R & D.
July 03 • 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm | Run the Beech Race Series – The Sparkler
Run the Beech is a running/walking race series on Beech Mountain that has the goal of offering an outdoor activity that is affordable and for all abilities. This series consists of 3 races from June 19 – July 25 that will highlight the unique terrain that Beech has to offer. All races are on Friday evening, starting at 6pm. Each race will be at a different location within Beech Mountain town limits and will offer a short course (1-2 miles) and a long course (3-4 miles). Sign up for all of them for $45 or join us for one for $15! You will receive a T-shirt when you sign up for all 3 or purchase one for $15. T-shirt size only guaranteed to those who pre-register for the entire series by June 1. Food and drink included at every course with every race registration. Please register at https://www.webscorer.com/beechparks . Race # 2- The Sparkler (sponsored by Holland Realty) check in at 5-5:45 pm for bibs at the Buckeye Recreation Center Rec desk. Race will depart from the Buckeye Rec Center.
July 04 • 10:00 am – 3:00 pm | Mile High Kite Festival
On Fourth of July weekend, FREE family friendly fun awaits on Beech Mountain. Kids of all ages are invited to the meadow behind Famous Brick Oven Pizzeria (402 Beech Mountain Parkway) to cover Beech Mountain’s blue skies with kites of all shapes and colors. Our signature is 5,560 feet in elevation, making it easy to sail kites more than a mile above sea level. This beloved event features craft and food vendors and music. Don’t have a kite? Fret not. Free kites are provided for kids 12 and under to decorate (while supplies last). The event will be held on July 4th from 10am – 3pm, so join us for a cool summer day on Beech Mountain.
