UPCA is hosting summer's first Saturday Night Out, June 27, at Poudre River Resort. This band made its first appearance earlier this month at the Poudre River Resort. They will start playing at
420 pm - 700 pm. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs to sit on.
Consider getting something to eat at the Canyon Grill, just up from the stage.

Wow! There is a lot going on around this community building. I keep thinking I will be headed further down soon, and something else stops me. No wonder the Upper Poudre Canyon Fun Day will be located here on Aug 8th.
Do you love history? Of course, you do if you're reading posts every week from a guy who lived in the 1800's. Well, last week I was leaving the Community Center and Fire Station 2, still drinking my coffee from my new mug, and I noticed to my right a tiny schoolhouse called Eggers. So, I asked those UPCA members about it. It was named after Fred and Alma Eggers, who started the school for their 3 kids and the local ranchers. The school opened in 1933 and served the Canyon residents until 1959, when a larger building was built. It was moved near the Fire Station to preserve it as a museum. Come check out this little gem on Aug 8th at the Upper Poudre Canyon Fun Day and buy used books there. There will be other history talks and a tour where you just might run into more pioneers like me.
Now, I'm off lickety-split. I smell burgers.
