Over the past 100 yrs it has transformed from Cook's camp w/ a modest store and camp into a comprehensive year-round resort and restaurant that has a gas station & store.

Today friends of Swede walked up the mountain to fix the flag that the wind got hold of ,you see Swede started this tradition of walking up the mountain that looks over Glen Echo resorts over 68 years this amazing veteran has started a tradition of walking each 4th of July up the mountain and replacing the flag ,it is my honor 🎖 to know this great man who served our country and loves our country on 4th of July this fag will be replaced by a new one in the evening that night at Glen Echo he will give the flag to somebody he chooses, we are honored to have it here 😀 we are honored to know this GREAT MAN
