Wind Farm Developers: In 2023, wind developer Invenergy committed a $2 million donation to Cornell University to establish an eagle rehabilitation program to offset potential impacts to eagles from upstate New York wind farm projects. To offset the estimated deaths of dozens of bald eagles caused by upstate New York wind farms, developer Invenergy committed a nearly $2 million donation to Cornell University in 2023. The funds primarily benefit the Janet L. Swanson Wildlife Hospital to assist with the treatment, rehabilitation, and conservation of bald and golden eagles.The commitment was a negotiated measure during the permitting process for two massive renewable energy developments:Alle-Catt Wind Energy Center: Located across Allegany, Cattaraugus, and Wyoming counties. The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation estimated this 31,000-acre project will take the lives of 41 bald eagles over its 30-year operational life.Canisteo Wind Energy Project: Located in Steuben County. State regulators estimated that this project would also result in the deaths of another 41 bald eagles.The massive toll on the local raptor population generated significant pushback from conservationists and local advocates. This is what we’re fighting for. You might just see a tree, however this sacred tree has been standing for roughly 235 years! That makes it older than the county it is standing in. Let’s keep the ‘Wilds’ in the Western NY Wilds.

What's occuring:
A proposed large-scale lithium-ion Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) on Hess Road in Allegany County is facing local opposition due to safety, fire risk, and environmental concerns. We do not want the facility, we don't want it to ruin our lands.

Most folks in these parts have a special tie to the land. We consider our lush & vibrant farmlands, forests, valleys & waterways as our greatest wealth. Will you let others who seek only financial gain pillage our lands & leave them useless? Please come to the town hall meeting on Monday June 8 at the Angelica Grange 7pm. 🍀

You only get one life to live, you better make it count. You were not meant to follow paths, you were meant to blaze new trails. Days like this fill us with purpose & passion. These young people remind us that there is hope for a brighter world. William ( orange guy) is nearly 14. He has a lot of big ideas about what he wants to do in the forest & he is already starting to work on them. I cannot wait to see what he does with his life. I certainly will not hold him to expectations of others. We see Bill all the time. He is the heron flying over the marsh, he is the beaver redesigning the forest, he is the breeze blowing through the pines. He is all things & everywhere, reminding us to stop, listen, take notice of everything around you & within you 💚🙏

ORES: This is for the folks at the town hall meeting last night who are not yet familiar. These are the people making the decisions, they already have been granted ultimate power, they do not need to go through your local government, they do not need permission from the DEC, they do not even have to follow local noise ordinances or regulations. These folks are about to tear up our county & it will never be the same 😔

ORES helps the State meet its infrastructure and clean energy goals while protecting the environment and local communities.

I always say that William is the best gift that Mickey ever gave me. Our lil miracle baby is almost a teenager. He wants to learn how to do everything at the Holler & takes such pride in his work. He asked to learn how to make brick oven pizza& boy he sure nailed it. Grandpa Bill would be so proud. Who knows maybe someday he will choose to open the property to the public again when he is running the show. Wishing everyone a fun filled summer with the ones you love 💕
