Oh the wonderful things you’ll see on the slopes!
Dear Jay Peak,
Whooo! You’ve had quite the season. 356” of snowfall and counting?! That’s amazing. Heck it’s probably snowing there right now.
While I(much) appreciate a solid base depth and powder days…anyone who’s been lucky enough to visit knows that it’s not all about your annual snowfall…
It’s your glades for days.
It’s your kindness at the ticket counter.
It’s your acreage and terrain that makes you feel small.
It’s your quiet, wild, beautiful corner of Vermont.
It’s the collective mood shift upon arrival.
It’s your rewarding apres food (looking at you )
It’s the thrill of riding the tram.
It’s the smile from ski patrol.
It’s feeling like a kid again in the waterpark.
It’s in the creativity in the parks and the peace on the Nordic trails.
It’s surreal views like this one when you get off The Jet.
And while it’s just a few hours drive from home, it feels like a little world away.
I’m so happy I was able to make it up this season, that I could paint and ski here. When I set up my easel, the mountain delivered the inspiration and the skiers and riders brought the stoke.
So thank you for being so freaking awesome. I hope you like this painted view. I started it trailside on March 5th and finished it in the studio today.
Have a great rest of the season.
Love,
Carrie
