🚨It’s time for our 2026 Merit Badge Selection! 🏕️
💻 https://mycouncil.columbiamontourbsa.org/Event/ScoutCamp2026
~Please CAREFULLY review the schedule AND the program guide.
~Pathfinders is the same as last year: sessions 1-2 and 4-5. They will have the option to choose a merit badge for session 3.
~All boating activities are taking place at Lake Jean. Scouts who sign up for boating are committed sessions 1-3 in their entirety regardless of how many boating merit badges are earned prior to camp.
~All scouts in Aquatics merit badges must be able to successfully perform a Swimmers test of Day 1 of Summer Camp.
~You must be 14 years old by 7/6/2026 to participate in Shotgun
~Pioneering and Orienteering both 1.5 sessions. It is recommended to take both. If you choose to only take one of the sessions, you may NOT select a merit badge for anything in session 2, as there will not be adequate time to complete the necessary requirements.
~Those scouts who wish to participate in Aviation must submit an essay that will be reviewed by the Aviation Staff, the Program Director, and the Camp Director. At this time, four will be selected, but possibly more. Please include some information about yourself in your essay: name, troop number, age, rank, hometown, hobbies, career plans, etc. and why you are interested in taking Aviation Merit Badge. All submissions are due June 7, 2026 at 11:59pm. All submissions should be typed and attached to an email sent to: [email protected] AND [email protected].
~For Aviation: We will be transporting scouts often for this merit badge, hence the time commitment to two sessions. However, not all participants will be able to fly at the same time. Some days, some scouts will fly, and others will stay in camp. Those scouts who are still in camp may choose another merit badge to participate in during those sessions if they wish. There may not be a way to register for that online due to technical logistics, so we can take care of this on day 1 of camp.
~SCUBA will be offered on Tuesday evening in the pool and will require a Hold Harmless Agreement as well as a small fee to cover the costs associated with the equipment.
