BQ5 Ranch & Nature Retreat

BQ5 Ranch & Nature Retreat Nature and Nurture - peaceful and beautiful 706 acre ranch in historic Goliad County with 14 miles of Bring your cameras!

We are a working South Texas ranch with 706-acres dedicated to wildlife habitat and the art of "winding down"... stay in one of our guest houses, enjoy massive numbers of resident and migratory birds, butterfly, dragonfly, hike or bike or horseback ride (bring your own horses) over 14 miles of manicured trails, fish, stargaze on the Stargazer Hill's platform or around the firepit. Photo blinds are

situated around the ranch watering holes for prime wildlife viewing and photographing. When you're ready for something a little more exotic, walk on up to one of our mediterranean miniature donkeys and be prepared to be loved like you've never been before! We maintain a vegetable garden and cutting garden year-round here. Come in the summer and enjoy some of the fresh organic fare including tomatoes, peppers, squash. Fall we have greens galore, broccoli, arugula, onions. Spring brings us potatoes and spinach, lettuces, beets and sometimes other surprises. Note: "Working ranch" means we work - a lot. But we love to visit our guests, bend their ears and show them around. We want you to feel like you're at your own home out here in the countryside. So we encourage you to do whatever it is you want to do even if it's just hang in the hammock or rock on the porch. We understand the meaning and importance of winding down and getting away.

With proper construction and maintenance, backyard ponds can support valuable wildlife habitat and create a personal outdoor retreat.

While moving my cattle this week, I found a spent helium filled balloon in my cattle pens. So time for me to do what has become my Annual Rant against releasing helium filled balloons. They will eventually come back to earth and pose a significant risk to wildlife and cattle. Please consider more eco friendly options. Here is a link to some great alternatives. https://balloonsblow.org/environmentally-friendly-alternatives/
