Grandpa Steinman and me in the great stone lobby of my grandparents building at 305 Riverside Dr.!

My first photo in NY as a very young “refugee” from the state of Vermont at the outset of World War II. My mom “vacated” us to the precarious “safety“ of 305 Riverside Dr. at 103rd St. facing the Hudson River and the iconic Masters Building!
Peter Jacobson at about 2 1/2 with my mom’s dad, David Bernard Steinman, born 1885/86? In Russia “On the boat,” or according to my grandmother but for some arcane or sentimental reason, he always made a big point of having been born in the shadow of the Brooklyn Bridge which so influence his growth and development as a builder of bridges. As a youth I always thought grandpas insistence on having been born in greater New York near the Brooklyn Bridge was kind of a crazy affectation on his part. Now in the age of Donald Trump beginning to understand what was on my grandfather’s mind. He died the summer of 1960 when I was 20, not old enough to vote yet but on a one year break, my junior between Montpelior VT and Washington DC worh on the Democrtic Primaries on the electoral campaign of Rep. William H Meyer for relection as the first Democratic progressive representative from the state of Vermont.

My darling little almost twin daughters now growing up to become superstars they started out to be from the very beginning and now…………
These little people, here on a visit to Bend, Oregon with their sainted mom…… And their dad are still figuring out, Saint or Sinner? 🙂
But as this little photo clearly indicates I must’ve been doing something right to bring them this far and – – and we’ll see where to next with Bnai Mitzvoth coming up next on the horizon. Golly but it happen so fast!

Seeing double delights with my crooked Meta Ray-Ban spectacles while these darling lasses radiate the beauty of youth and goodness, humor and integrity…. Providing incentive for this old guy to to stick around to try for an adult bar mitzvah and approaching B’nai Mitzvoth celebrations!
