Season’s wrapping up, the leaves are falling, and somebody still thinks the dumpster is a free storage unit. This week’s S’more News is the closing edition: leaf bags, the closing checklist, off-season camping, and the King of Hearts finale.

A few things before you ghost us until spring:

Leaf bags are in the lodge. Don’t blow that s**t into your neighbor’s yard.
Closing checklist is in the app under End of Season Information → 2026-27 Camp Info.
Off-season camping registration deadline is October 15.
Dumpster = kitchen trash only, bagged, lid closed. No mattresses, couches, bikes, appliances, or yard waste. Full? Report it in the app and use the other one.
Compost pile is for compost. Plastic flower pots are not a personality.

Halloween showed up early, did what it wanted, and left glitter in the grass. You're welcome.
Thank you to the people who made that possible and did not leave us holding an empty candy bowl. The sites that went feral with the decorations. Our little pumpkin patch, which is little, and still managed to arm a small army. The carvers who grabbed a pumpkin, parked it on the tables outside the lodge, and then acted normal while everybody voted. The craft, snack, and game crew at the bash, inflatables included, sand mostly not. Friday's spaghetti. Saturday's Halloween dinner, $2 and somehow still a meal, right before we released the trick-or-treaters. Sunday breakfast for whoever survived. The kids in costume. The sites that had candy ready instead of a porch light and a shrug. DJ Rondo. The haunted house crew who showed up early and stayed until the screaming stopped. Bingo, the hayride, and whoever kept a sugar-high kid from becoming a statistic.
If your site, your costume, or your kid is in these photos, that was the assignment.
This place sucks. In the good way.

SATURDAY 10/3

1:00 PM — Halloween Activities (Kids Halloween Bash runs to 3:15 — crafts, snacks, games, mechanical pumpkin)
1:30 PM — ATV Riding
4:00–6:00 PM — Halloween Dinner
6:00 PM — Trick-or-Treat
7:30 PM — DJ Rondo
8:00–10:00 PM — Haunted House
SUNDAY 10/4
10:00 AM–12:00 PM — Hearty Breakfast
FOOD
Friday spaghetti with garlic bread and a side salad is $10. Dinner salad only is $8. 5:00–7:00 PM.
Saturday Halloween dinner is $2 a person, 4:00–6:00 PM, before trick-or-treat. Small bills. RSVP in the BHHP App.
Sunday breakfast buffet is $10 for 13+, $8 for ages 5–13, free under 5 with a parent purchase. Eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, fruit, bagels, toast, waffles. Coffee, tea, and juice included.
PUMPKIN CARVING
Sign-ups are closed. Pickup is tonight, 7:00–8:00 PM. Turn them in on the tables outside the Lodge by 3:00 PM Saturday. Voting closes at 6:00 PM Saturday. Top 3 get a prize.
HAUNTED HOUSE
Saturday 8:00–10:00 PM. Donations accepted. Volunteers: be there at 7:00, stay until 11:00, and show up sober enough to be useful. No drinking. No anything else that makes you useless.
INFLATABLES
Up this weekend. Max 5 kids at a time. If you've got sand on you, you're not getting on. We are not explaining a flat bounce house to anyone.

What a fun morning at the Lodge last Saturday!
Thank you, Lisa Whitesel, for leading our family craft and helping everyone make these beautiful driftwood beaded wind hangers. They turned out even better than we hoped — Carol was driving around in her golf cart showing everyone, and she absolutely loved it.
We appreciate Lisa taking the time to plan, gather supplies, and walk everyone through the project. Moments like this are what make weekends at the Lodge special.

That’s a wrap on live music for 2026.
Bad JuJu closed it Saturday night and the Rec Court is now legally required to rest its ears until May. You all showed up. You sang the wrong words with confidence. You danced like the neighbors couldn’t see you. They could. We all could. Keep doing it.
Thank you to every band that hauled gear down Route 113 this year and pretended this was a normal venue:

Camper Appreciation Party was a hit. Thank you to every last person who showed up and made this place suck on purpose.

This event is for BHHP seasonals and their visitors only.
This weekend is the last chance to RSVP so we can get an accurate count.
Please sign up in the BHHP app for the number of kids pumpkins you need. Include your site # and the kids’ names.
Pickup is Friday, October 2 at 7:00 PM. Do not pick up early.
We will have a contest again for best carved, decorated, or painted pumpkin. Top 3 voted get a prize. Bring your supplies and get creative!
