d style. PHASE I – NATURE DAY TRIPS
We’re partnering with Luke 5 Adventures to provide day hiking trips for their hikers and sherpas. These trips will be organized and managed by Luke 5. During this time, we are working on our fully-accessible dock, trails, and picnic area. PHASE II – CABINS
Our custom-designed cabins, where luxury meets unparalleled accessibility. Each cabin will be a masterpiece of universal design, crafted to empower every guest, from those using wheelchairs or power chairs to older adults and beyond. Sleeping up to six, our cabins offer a seamless blend of high-end finishes, assistive technologies, and spacious layouts, ensuring a nature vacation that’s as indulgent as it is inclusive.

Saturday, the Able Stays property became more than a plan.

We welcomed two hiking groups coordinated by and watched the land be used for what we've always intended... serve people who can't experience nature by themselves.

Our differently-abled friends and their families hiked, explored, fished, and had a great day enjoying the outdoors. Volunteers from and the able stays teams supported them.

It was a day filled with reminders about why this matters ... and it is only the beginning!

A family getaway should be something to anticipate, not something that requires endless research, difficult compromises, and uncertainty about whether everyone can participate.

For many people with disabilities and their families, travel and outdoor recreation can involve barriers at nearly every step. Trails may be inaccessible. Accommodations may not meet their needs. Activities may separate family members instead of bringing them together.

able stays is being developed to offer another possibility.

Our goal is to create welcoming outdoor experiences and future overnight accommodations designed with accessibility in mind from the beginning.

Because adventure, rest, and meaningful family time should be available to more people.

Able Stays began with a simple idea:
What would it look like to create a place where people with disabilities and their families could experience nature, adventure, rest, and time together ...

Without facing the barriers they so often encounter?

Not simply a property with a few accessible features added later—but a destination intentionally developed around participation, dignity, comfort, and belonging.

That question became the beginning of able stays.

The vision is still growing, but the purpose has remained clear: create a place where more people can experience the outdoors and make meaningful memories together.

We look forward to sharing how that vision is becoming real.
