Located in Berks County, Camp Swatara brings in summer campers of all ages each year to get away from the busyness of life by living in community with friends and connecting with God and nature. Campers live in cabin groups with peers and friends of their own age and gender, spending a week together under the care and supervision of a trained and certified cabin counselor. In addition to summer camp, Camp Swatara also makes available an extensive Family Camping Center, complete with over 140 campsites, where families and church groups can spend an extended period of time camping in the great outdoors (tents, RVs, etc). Fun activities like boating, biking, fishing, and gaga are all a part of what makes a great experience at our Family Camping Center. Join us over Labor Day weekend for one of our favorite Camp Swatara traditions! The Annual Labor Day Auction benefits the Family Campground, helping support the campground and the Camp experience we all love.

Fall Outdoor Education Topics Are Here! 🍁

We’re excited to share what’s coming this fall at Camp Swatara’s Outdoor Education program! These hands-on, Bible-based mornings are perfect for homeschool families looking to learn, explore, and grow together in God’s creation.

📅 Fall 2026 Topics:
🥾 September 10 – Hiking & Trail Markings
🐦 October 8 – Birding
🍄 November 12 – Mushrooms & Fungi

Each session is designed to help kids discover the outdoors in a fun, meaningful way while pointing back to the Creator behind it all.

Join us at Camp Swatara for our September Outdoor Education session as we explore the basics of hiking and learn how to read trail markings! It’s a great opportunity for kids (and parents!) to grow in confidence on the trail while discovering more about God’s creation.
