I brought this new (to me) orange, vintage mid century lounge chair up last month but was so busy prepping for another Very Exciting Project™ that I didn’t have a chance to take many photos! I had waffled back and forth on what chair to replace the one there for years and when this one popped up on Craigslist I knew it was *the one*.

I can’t wait to get back up to the cabin to cook in this refreshed kitchen! New quartz countertops, tiled backsplash, matte black composite sink, faucet, microwave, and black outlets (with usb-c charging!) When I got the cabin the first thing I did was do a light refresh but this really makes it feel complete now. Sometimes it’s all about doing what you can when you can. I never wanted this to feel like a brand spankin new kitchen, but one that’s fresh and beautiful while still feeling like it could’ve been this way all along. Look at this KITCHEN!! When I’m making updates at I always try to stay true to the mid-century heart and soul that this place has while still feeling fresh and modern. With that said, I couldn’t be happier with how this kitchen update turned out!!! New quartz countertops that hark back to vintage terrazzo. A simple, green backsplash tile that still feels fresh and modern with its vertical stacked layout and dark charcoal grout. And then I just love the black composite sink and matte black faucet (oh, and dont forget black switches/outlets with USB charging!). After seeing how good the countertops looked, I knew I needed a prettier microwave. So I went with a small one that is retro-styled in a creamy off-white color that looks great against the new backsplash. This update happened on an *absolutely insane* timeline to have it all ready for something super special that happened this week. So many new updates at that I’m very excited to share that I haven’t even had time to take proper photos of. A huge shoutout to for helping make all of this become a reality! All of these new updates never could have come together so beautifully and so quickly without all of ’s help, organization, talent, and connections. I’m so thankful to be surrounded by such amazing people 🙂🥰

I’ve been a little quiet on here as I have been BUSY getting things in order for what is an exciting couple of weeks here at . In just a couple days the kitchen will have a nice little facelift that I couldn’t be more excited about! 😱 I’m also bringing up some furniture and lighting and small updates all around the house that will really freshen everything up. Then I’ll be getting to show all that off through something *very* exciting that’s happening next week. I have a feeling it’s going to be a great summer, y’all

When I found this cabin 5 years ago I never could’ve imagined what it would bring me in the years to come. It started out with my desire to own a home but I wasn’t able to afford one in the city I have to live for my job. Once I found the cabin I hoped to help pay for the mortgage by renting it out a bit... All while having a place away from it all – A win win. Sharing my home and its progress here on has connected me with so many other hosts, some of which have become great friends. Having this community for support and advice has been so helpful, too. Even my job as an Art Director in advertising came to me with the help of a connection of an guest. 5 years into hosting and I can’t imagine what my life would be like without it.

One of the most rewarding parts of being an host is that you can provide guests with a space to create amazing memories that they’ll have for a lifetime. Recently, I was hosting a couple coming for their honeymoon straight from their wedding ceremony. The newlywed’s family reached out to me beforehand and we worked together with an amazing local vendor to create an incredible surprise that would be waiting for them upon their arrival. Celebratory wine and champagne, charcuterie, and a series of special notes sent by the family greeted them when they checked-in. Not only did it look amazing, it felt incredible to be able to help facilitate such a lovely experience for my guests to make their special day extra special.
