INCREASING CHANCE FOR CALIFORNIA MOUNTAIN SNOW🏔️❄️confidence is growing that colder air arriving this weekend into early next week could bring the first notable higher-elevation snow chances of the season to parts of California!

Across the Sierra-Nevada,a strong cold front is expected to bring a substantial temperature drop Sunday into Monday, with snow levels potentially falling into the 5,000-6,000-foot range at times. That could be low enough for snow showers around some of the higher Sierra passes and Tahoe-area mountains.

Farther south, snow could even become possible around the higher mountains of Southern California, including the Big Bear area, depending on how much cold air overlaps with the incoming moisture. Tropical moisture associated with Rachel and the approaching West Coast trough could provide precipitation, but temperatures and snow levels will ultimately determine how much falls as snow versus rain.

Moisture remains a limiting factor farther north, while snow levels remain a key uncertainty farther south. Right now, this does not look like a major California snowstorm, but the potential for accumulating snow in some of the higher elevations is becoming more interesting - especially in the Sierra where at least light accumulations are probable to likely. Expect snow levels, timing and potential accumulations to become clearer over the next few days🏔️❄️

Tours are limited and tickets are available online only — there will be no tickets sold at the door.
$30 per person
Children 3 and under are free
Minors must be accompanied by an adult
Bring a jacket — October nights in Big Bear can be chilly.
