UPAW at THE LODGE!
“Urban Cowboy Lodge will be showing the work of two artists as part of Upstate Art Weekend - August 27, 28, and 29.
William Accorsi, a legendary character who passed away earlier this year most well-known for his playful wooden sculptures, will be having a retrospective of over 60 years of work. His team says, “[William] left behind a rich body of work. The show includes wood sculptures, metal and button assemblages, children’s books and many unfinished manuscripts pending publication.”
The Lodge is also showing, “Post Primitive”, by Nate Fish, loosely exploring the similarities between primitive and modern design and ideas. Fish is the former creative director at the Lodge and co-founder of The Gallery at Urban Cowboy Lodge along with local artist and chief curator Amy Ritter.
It is the first time the Lodge is participating in UPAW, founded in 2020 by Helen Toomer of Stoneleaf Retreat. It is in fact the first art shows at the Lodge, UPAW or otherwise, and will kick-off UC Arts, Urban Cowboy’s art program following their recent announcement of Cowboy Creative, an agency offering design and other creative services.
UPAW at the Lodge will take place August 27, 28, and 29 from 1-9pm daily. There will be drink specials and exclusive merchandise.”
