Yesterday’s Open House was something we’ll never forget.

Thank you to everyone who came out, shared a kind word, told a story, or simply walked the grounds with us. Your encouragement gave us a moment of clarity: the choices we made, the direction we took, and the work it took to get here were all worth it.

Hearing your memories of the Inn, seeing your reactions to the new cabins, and feeling the genuine excitement in person gave us something priceless: validation. Validation that the decisions we made were the right ones. Validation that the years of work, setbacks, and rebuilding were worth it. And validation that this property still holds a special place in so many hearts.

The Inn may no longer stand, but yesterday reminded us of something deeper: it is still our honor and responsibility to be good stewards of this beloved place. We are caretakers of a property that means so much to so many, and we carry that responsibility with gratitude and pride.

After three long years, we can finally share the news we’ve been working toward since the night we lost the Big Moose Inn: Big Moose Lakeside is ready to welcome you back — and we’re hosting an Open House on May 27th, the day our story turns from what we lost to what we’ve built anew.

The journey from that heartbreaking night to today has been long, emotional, and a path that reshaped us in ways we never expected. Losing the Inn was devastating for us, our family, our guests, and our community. Our first instinct was to rebuild it exactly as it was, but that simply wasn’t possible. What was possible — and what felt right — was honoring its legacy by creating something new that still carries its spirit forward.

Big Moose Lakeside is that next chapter.

We’re proud to introduce eight brand new, custom built camps designed to blend the rustic Adirondack charm people loved with the modern comforts today’s travelers deserve. A few of the cabins are already complete, and the remaining ones will be finished soon — just in time for this meaningful moment.

On May 27th, from 1pm -5pm, we invite you to walk the property, tour the new cabins, and share in this milestone with us. This isn’t just an opening — it’s a homecoming, a renewal, and a celebration of what this place has always meant to so many.

Big Moose Lake has always been a hidden gem… our little slice of heaven. And we’re grateful to once again share it with past guests, new visitors, and everyone who finds serenity in its quiet beauty.

Two years ago today, our beloved Inn was lost to a devastating fire—a memory that still stings. But today, we're thrilled to announce a new chapter at Big Moose Lakeside! This morning, Riverside Rustics delivered our custom-built furniture, and we couldn’t be more excited to give you a first look.

Introducing **Camp Iris**—the first of eight brand new accommodations. This cozy two-bedroom, two-bath cabin comfortably sleeps six and is designed to offer a perfect retreat as you explore Big Moose Lake and the Adirondack Park. Our vision is nearly complete, with just a few finishing touches before we open our doors.

Stay tuned for our official opening date. We can’t wait to welcome you back to the shore of this beautiful mountain lake and share the next chapter of our story with you.

Exciting progress at **Big Moose Lakeside!** Phase one of our transformation is taking shape—the first three cabins are in place, bringing us one step closer to welcoming you. While there’s still work ahead to make them perfect for your getaway, the vision is coming to life.

Check out the conceptual rendering of our 2-bedroom, 2-bath cabins at Big Moose Lakefront! Currently under construction, these cabins are projected to be ready for installation by late spring, weather permitting. While we hope to have all units ready for the summer season, we're cautious about opening future rentals for the summer at this time. Update on the Future of Big Moose Inn Property

It has been nearly two years since we lost the Big Moose Inn to a devastating fire, and ever since, we have been diligently working on the future of the property. First and foremost, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who reached out to us with well wishes and inquiries about our well-being following the fire. Your support has meant the world to us.

While we initially hoped to rebuild the Inn, the associated costs proved to be far greater than anticipated. Over the past year, we have reimagined the property as a serene lakefront retreat with several rental cabins, allowing us to continue sharing this beautiful setting with those seeking an Adirondack getaway.

Site development is currently underway, and we have secured contracts for the build. Once completed, we will offer eight rental units on the property: five one-bedroom cabins and three two-bedroom cabins. Each cabin will be equipped with all the amenities, including air conditioning, heating, high-speed internet, a washer and dryer, a kitchen/kitchenettes, and unobstructed views of Big Moose Lake, all while maintaining a rustic Adirondack vibe. These cabins will be available year-round to future guests.

As the construction progresses, we will keep you updated. The Big Moose Lakefront Lodging aims to continue offering a special place to create new memories while honoring the cherished tradition of what once was the Big Moose Inn.
