“What if we?”

That was how the conversation began around a dining room table one night after a long cattle weekend.
Just four people. Two couples. Two brothers, one the oldest one the youngest.

“What if we started selling the beef we raise OURSELVES?”

What began as a small conversation about a company name and if we thought we had the numbers and capacity to start a beef company resulted in an online beef store, a store front in Big Spring, TX and now who knows what’s to become in the future. ALL BECAUSE OF YOU GUYS.

Since 2022, you all have made this little dining room table dream of ours a reality. Our goal has always been simple: bring the pasture to plate, hand raised beef, with the quality and love that we get to enjoy at our own table to others.

Every time you purchase from us here at Dunbar Brothers Beef Company you are purchasing from a family who has put their heart and soul into ranching for 5 generations. It is our passion, our calling and in our opinion, our duty. We believe that you should have access to knowing where the food you are feeding your family comes from. We want to give that peace of mind to you.

Several of you have requested “beef boxes”. Until now, we haven’t had the inventory or storage for that to be feasible. Well, that is changing, THIS week! 🎉

Beef prices are near record highs, America’s cattle supply is still historically tight, and major processors are closing or restructuring plants. Now Washington is looking to more imported beef as part of the answer.

Meanwhile, right here in West Texas, we raise cattle. We process beef. And we have local businesses selling it directly to our families.

So before we look thousands of miles away, let’s look down the road.

This list highlights ranchers, processors, and sellers across House District 72 where you can find West Texas raised beef. Buying local won’t solve the national cattle shortage overnight, but it does put our grocery dollars back into our communities and support the people raising our food.
