Two weeks in to 40 (again) and it feeeeeels good.🥳 Our dear friends made the start of Halloween 🎃 more special than I could have dreamed. The whole day unfolded serendipitously — which is probably why the best memories are the ones you never plan… and also why I ended up chainsawing in my sunshine costume skirt. (Don’t worry, PPE was worn! 😂)

Guests can’t get enough of the vintage VCR and original 8” box TV 📺 in our 1988 Airstream experience. Complete with that analog hum and those occasional scan lines — it’s pure 1980s. 🤷🏻‍♀️

𝙋𝙧𝙤 𝙩𝙞𝙥 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙖 𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙜𝙪𝙚𝙨𝙩: for best viewing, simply turn off the lights and make the room dark. 🤣 … remember those days? 🌙✨

🎥 Apparently, our movie lineup needed a little more “adulting” in it too — The Wizard of Oz was a hit, but The Sandlot and Good Will Hunting weren’t cutting it. 🙃

So on a recent getaway to (for a weekend of shopping, candy, brews, and museums), we hit the jackpot — a shelf full of VHS classics in the thrift store! At a whipping $𝟭 𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵, we handpicked some new oldies for next season — some favorites growing up, some we’ve never heard of, and some that just make a movie collection complete.

Thank you to our local for paving a way for this conversation and for being true to yourself and your customers. You have a few new superfans (we told our friends)!

It is with raw emotion that I make this post. While we didn’t follow Charlie Kirk closely, the past month since his assassination has left me feeling pretty down. I wear a smile and hide it well.

After taking these photos, I asked myself if we should have really been laughing and having a good time. These shirts represent a dark moment. But they represent the Light, too — a turning point for many.

No matter what we believe, every voice deserves to be heard. Real freedom lives in open, honest dialogue — even when it’s uncomfortable, even when we disagree. The beauty in our country isn’t just in the mountains and rivers, the valleys or people, but also in these tough moments and the precious freedoms granted us to work through them with grace and compassion. 🙏 🇺🇸

Here’s to kindness, conversation, and the courage to listen. 💙

We couldn’t have asked for a better day to explore a new hike. And this one trailheads just 45 minutes from our resort. Another Montana bucket list item done ✔️, and what a spectacle it was! Our trusty Sun Dolphins 🐬 had a good run, but we’ve officially upgraded. Say hello to our Lifetime Tundra—complete with an adjustable framed seat for max chill, smooth cruising, and all-day comfort on the lake. 💦☀️😎 (seriously, take a look at that seat!)

We took it out for a test run last night. It’s sleek. It’s comfy. It’s ready for you. Stay for the B&B (Bed and Beach) experience! 🏖️ 💕

So many thoughts as I write this…

I’m taken back to childhood—sitting with my parents on the back of their convertible, top down, watching fireworks light up the sky while sipping on a SONIC cookie dough blast. 🙈

Now, I look around and see new memories being made right here on our private Flathead Lake beach—happy guests who’ve saved, planned, and traveled to spend their precious time here, in this place we get to call home.
•
And at the same time, I think of those not celebrating tonight—terrified pets, wildlife, veterans, and anyone struggling with PTSD, all searching for a quiet space in a night full of noise.
•
As I scroll through songs for this post, one finally lands—because as the night winds down, one feeling rises above the rest: deep gratitude to live in the land of the free. Happy birthday, America! 🇺🇸

That’s the heart of what we do. Flathead Lake Resort isn’t just a stay—it’s a story. Our hope is that guests don’t feel like they’re checking into a vacation rental… but like they’re visiting an old friend.
