Make Nystrom’s Resort your home base for a Northern Wisconsin fall-color getaway.
Spend the morning exploring some of Wisconsin’s nearby Rustic Roads, then return to Big Lake Chetac for an afternoon of fishing, time on the water and a peaceful evening at your cabin.
You don’t need a UTV to experience the beauty of fall in the Northwoods. These scenic routes can be enjoyed from the comfort of your car, making them a wonderful option for anyone who prefers a relaxed drive through the changing colors.
A few routes to explore:
Rustic Road 71 near Stone Lake follows Lake Road and Little Stone Road beneath a beautiful canopy of trees along the western shore of Stone Lake.

Rustic Road 114 winds through the Blue Hills, passing forests, lakes and some of the area’s most picturesque fall scenery.

Rustic Roads 108 and 125 near Seeley can be combined for a longer drive through Sawyer County Forest, quiet backroads, wetlands and lake country.
