Caroline's Cart Caroline's Cart - A special needs shopping cart for children and adults.

Drew Ann Long saw the need for Caroline’s Cart after realizing her daughter would outgrow a typical shopping cart. After years of frustration, she founded Parent Solution Group, LLC, designed the cart, applied for a patent, and enlisted the services of legal and business professionals to help her bring the cart to market. Retailers such as supermarkets, hypermarkets, shopping centers, and malls offering Caroline’s Carts will provide a valuable service to the families of over 1 million severely disabled children in the US. Our goal is that these customers will find shopping to be easier, and the goodwill they feel toward their store will translate into customer loyalty.

🌱 We now have a Caroline's Cart available at our Appleby store for our friends and whānau living with disabilities or needing extra support while shopping.

The cart has a supportive seat, safety harness and safety brake, allowing someone to sit comfortably while their caregiver or whānau member shops alongside them. We hope this makes the weekly shop a little easier for more families in our community.

For now, Caroline’s Cart is only available at Appleby. Please feel free to spread the word and tag anyone you think would benefit from knowing about it, whether that’s a friend, family member or organisation. We want to help ensure everyone in our community feels welcome and supported.

Caroline's Cart is a specially designed shopping cart that allows older children and adults with disabilities to comfortably shop with their families or caregiver. It is designed with a large seat in the back, facing the person pushing the cart. It comes with a seat belt to secure the person in the seat and can fit people who weigh up to 250 pounds. Because of their shared commitment to inclusion and accessibility, The Arc of the United States has partnered with Caroline’s Cart. All carts will now display The Arc’s logo plus a QR code to request the cart locally.
