Ok I’m so tired of working on a video and choosing music Facebook says was chosen just for me AND every time somebody claims the music rights…so I do it again with different music and again someone claims the rights…so first of all we have never made any money on Facebook, (oh I’m sorry I think we made .33 one time, but never actually even got that!) But that is not even why we use facebook, we are a tiny business trying to make fun videos for attention. I love music and think it’s important in our videos AND spend a lot of time setting our photos to that specific music…so frustrating!

Ok now calm down and dream of fall weather out here at Lone Cedar Cabins🍂🍁

🐶 Happy 10th Birthday, Freckles! 🐶

A month late… because apparently Mom forgot. 🤦‍♀️😂

But in my defense, Freckles has been so busy being the official Lone Cedar Cabins greeter, hiking guide, snack inspector, and professional guest sitter that I can hardly keep up with her! 😂

At 10 years old, her dog years are getting pretty close to ours— So basically, she’s catching up with us! 😳🤣

Right now, she’s sitting with guests. She’ll come home when she gets hungry. 😉

Priorities.

If you know us at all, you know we buy “scratch and dent” and save them till we need them. Yep the original hot water heater just went out (with guests here😳) at our Oak Ridge cabin. We bought it in ‘04 for 175.00 because it had a dent, it wasn’t installed till later but it lasted almost 20 years! We got our monies worth for sure😉

Now let’s talk about Gabe’s “sticker shock”!!! (Should have seen him at the store😂)

But anyway it’s all installed and heating up for our guests that graciously (thank you) did without hot water last night. ❤️😊❤️

Check us out, we have a new hot water heater (we really are not that backwoods!🤣🤣🤣)

X’s two! They sure are giving me a hard time about the music I used on this post so here it is again with different music…

“It’s a sure sign of summer if the chair gets up when you do.”

Yep. 😂 It’s August in Arkansas, and we’re not going to pretend it isn’t HOT!

But we’ve got a few ways to make summer at Lone Cedar Cabins a little sweeter. 😉

❄️ Great A/C (and yes, we’re a little proud of it!)
🌬️ Ceiling fans on every porch
🦟 For some mysterious reason… hardly any mosquitoes!
🎬 A vintage movie collection for those evenings when you’d rather stay in
🌲 We’re 5–7° cooler than Hot Springs!
🌅 And when you really need to cool off, DeGray Lake is only about 8 miles away—with a quieter spot where you can float around and watch the sun go down.

So yes, the chair may be getting up with you…
…but maybe it’s time for a little summer sitting at Lone Cedar. ❤️

We have some August dates still open, and September has plenty of room too.

Happy 150th Birthday Hot Springs!

Today is Hot Springs 150 year birthday! Cheers (but no photo of the town officially becoming designated as a real town!)
From a few years past... a parade marking the US Reservation 100th birthday!
Vintage treasures :)

Hot Springs Centennial Parade in 1932 (protected as a US Reservation in 1832) had residents and tourists lining Central Ave.
The parade's photo is in front of Mattar Auctions with the Hotel upstairs at 368 Central Ave., which is now National Park Gifts and Souvenirs. The next building going south is already a jewelry store in the location that eventually became Lauray's Jewelers.
Farther south, you can see Kempner's and the Pullman Hotel.

Maybe you don’t need fancy.

Maybe you just need a quiet place to land.🍃

A place to sit on the porch, watch the trees move outside the windows, sleep a little later, take a walk, build a fire, and remember what it feels like to slow down.

We never set out to build the fanciest cabins. We simply wanted to build a place where people could truly rest. Decades later, that’s still what matters most to us.

Sometimes the biggest surprise at Lone Cedar Cabins isn’t what we don’t have... it’s what we do.

“We couldn’t believe how good the Wi-Fi was!”

Yes... we have high-speed fiber internet.😊

But here’s the thing... we didn’t build this place so you’d spend your whole vacation staring at a screen. We built it for porch swings, hiking trails, fishing poles, evening campfires, and conversations that don’t need notifications.

The Wi-Fi is here when you need it.
The peace and quiet are here when you need them even more.

Maybe that’s the best of both worlds. ❤️
