Come out and support this beautiful town

This is no longer just a market...it is a gathering place.

A space to slow down, sit a spell, and reconnect with each other. A place to spend the day in Swannanoa. Rooted in community, care, and shared experience.

When we first started this market, we thought we were building a farmers market because that was what made sense. Every town around us had one, and after the storm, we needed something good. We needed a win. We needed a place for people to gather, support one another, and begin putting pieces back together.

But as we started building, we realized something.

Our farmers had lost so much. Many lost everything. Others were already committed to markets they had been a part of for years. We struggled to bring in enough farmers, but what kept showing up over and over again were makers, bakers, artists, crafters, musicians, wellness practitioners, and neighbors who simply wanted a place to belong.

So we stopped trying to force ourselves into a title that did not fully fit.

This is no longer just a farmers market. This is a market for our community.

A place where local people can sell what they make, share what they know, and create something meaningful together.

A place where you can find real food, handmade goods, local art, music, wellness, conversation, and connection.

A place where you can support local instead of a big box store. A place where your dollars stay here, helping our neighbors build something sustainable and real.

A lot has happened behind the scenes while we were on break, but one thing has never changed: the mission.

To create a space where people can try to make themselves whole again.

We are still here. We are still building.

The Swannanoa Market is back for the 2026 season
Saturdays, May 2 through October 31
10 AM to 1 PM

Take a look at the markets happening across Buncombe County. There is something special happening in every corner, and it is all worth showing up for.

Farmers' markets are more than a place to shop. They are where you meet the people growing your food, making your goods, and pouring back into this community every single week. Supporting local farmers, makers, and artisans helps keep our local economy strong and connected. It matters to know where your food comes from, and it matters who you are supporting.

This season, we are launching our community-sponsored SNAP/EBT program, expanding access to fresh, local food for more of our neighbors. More details coming soon on what this will mean for our community.

And we are just getting started.

Classes, workshops, live music, kids' activities, and so much more are coming together this season. We are building something that is rooted in community, access, and connection.
