We are looking for cheerful, professional and welcoming staff to join the friendly team at the Country Inn & Suites as a Guest Service Representative. The Guest Service Representative accommodates guests of the hotel while maintaining a positive attitude while assisting guest in-person and on the phone. The GSR goes above and beyond, solves problems with the given resources, manages emotional customer situations with professionalism, looks for ways to improve and promote quality and pays attention to detail. This position requires weekday, weekend and holiday availability.
Responsibilities will include:
*Assists all guests in a sincere and courteous manner, and whenever possible, going the extra mile and doing whatever it takes to ensure guest satisfaction.
*Provide prompt and courteous facilitation of arrival, departure, confirmations, cancellations, and miscellaneous guest requests.
*Performing all guests accounting functions according to established hotel operating procedures to ensure all guest and house accounts are complete and accurate.
*Listen to and resolve guest concerns with patience.
*Demonstrates a working knowledge of all services and facilities of the hotel, as well as the local area, and effectively assists guests.
*Adheres to all established credit and inventory control procedures to minimize exposure of loss to revenue.
*Demonstrates the use of sales techniques to effectively sell the property, maximizing occupancy, and average rates.
*Master reservation system as well as the hotel phone system.
*Receives and processes telephone and walk-in reservations accurately to ensure guest satisfaction.
* Should be able to lift and move at least 30lb.
* Inspect & maintain all public areas periodically and clean as needed.
*Understand & applies all hotel safety, and security procedures to maintain a secure and safe environment for employees and guests.
Qualification Standards:
*Ability to quickly learn front desk technical procedures such as check-in, check-out, selling skills, computer operation, telephone operations, etc.
*Ability to operate a computer or cash register to handle monetary transactions and give correct change.
*Ability to work well on multiple tasks simultaneously.
*Ability to be friendly and cheerful; interact easily with guests and co-workers.
*Ability to cooperate and support others.
*Ability to observe, react quickly, and adjust to different guest situations.
*Ability to cope with stress, showing self-control during excitement.
*Ability for strong organizational skills and strong detail orientation.
*Grooming must meet property standards.
*Must have reliable transportation.
