Our staff quartet of fantastic high school ladies will soon be a little less visible. They're trading running around the Vrooman Mansion for running around the course and the court as IHSA Fall sports season kicks off. Maddie will be busy dominating on the volleyball court, Natalie will be serving aces on the tennis court, Brooke will be leaving competitors in her dust on the cross country course, and Kelsey will be outshooting all the competition on the golf course. It is hard to believe that schools are starting back up and the summer season is almost over. 😭 If you want to live in denial with us, can we recommend one last weekend getaway at the Vrooman Mansion? There are still some spectacular events to come in Bloomington-Normal in addition to the usual year-round haunts. We've got the Sweet Corn Circus coming up on August 21-22 in Uptown Normal, the Festival of Joy in Downtown Bloomington IL on August 30, and the Bloomington Comic-Con September 12-13 at the Bloomington Interstate Center. Come and join us for one last hurrah!

We were incredibly lucky to make it through last week's storm mostly unscathed. We lost a few tree branches and the internet for a few hours, but we know many of our neighbors are still clearing debris, pumping water out of basements, and living without power. But, we also know they aren't doing it alone. The people of Bloomington-Normal have stepped up to help friends, neighbors, and strangers. We have never loved our community more, nor have we ever been so proud to call Blo-No home.

Babies and brides, brides and babies! This summer has been full of joyous occasions at the Vrooman Mansion. We had or will have a bridal or baby shower (or both!) every weekend in June, July, and August this year. We couldn't be happier to be a part of such momentous celebrations. Congratulations to all the brides-to-be and parents-to-be that we have chosen us to host their events!

For more than 20 years (exact number varies depending on who you ask), this fine group of guests, known Mansion-wide as The Porch People™ have spent a weekend with us. They make their annual trek to the Illinois Shakespeare Festival and when they aren't watching a performance, you can find them (and a truckload of snacks) hanging out on the side porch. Sometimes, they even get owners, Pam and Dana, to join them. We hope you enjoyed your stay and can't wait to see you again next year!
