A full day in Old Town Bluffton, and the car never left its spot.
6am. The May River before the rest of town is awake. Coffee in hand, mist still on the water, the kind of quiet most people drive hours to find.
1pm. Calhoun Street at an easy pace. Galleries, a few shops worth lingering in, and owners who know your name by the second visit.
5pm. Dinner and a good drink at The Pearl, the light going gold, nowhere you need to be after.
8pm. Home before the streetlights, which here means a few steps back to the most comfortable bed at the Inn.
This is what we mean when we say Old Town is the amenity.
No shuttle, no parking deck, no schedule but your own. Just a town you can walk end to end and a front door waiting at the end of it.
